The show did the best number (562K + .18) since the FTR vs. Max/Adam show and it did that against monster football competition. The Ohio State/Notre Dame rating was super high.

Good for them! I think if they continue building up a few guys to be exclusive to Collision they'll hit that number regularly.

Thought this would actually be an all time low show just due to the games they were going up against but I think ratings are showing that moving away from a Pubk centric show was the right decision

Good number for what I thought was an excellent show.
The actual quality of the shows have improved since Punk was shitcanned in my opinion and the numbers are doing fine. Other than missing out on probable big merch money I don't think AEW are missing Punk at all.
I've said it before but having the entire roster available to choose from for Collision has made it feel a bigger deal. The last few CM Punk controlled Collision shows you could really start to notice how small the roster was, it was totally unsustainable.

Nature is healing.
Like the only real negative thing I have to say about Collision most weeks is Kevin Kelly. Otherwise, it's only gotten better since Punk's stranglehold on it was removed.

I will say the cohesion between the 3 AEW shows has been to each of their benefit. The stories and matches flow and it leaves you wanting to see what's going on the next show as opposed to the next week.

But all Punk's cultists said Collision was screwed without him and AEW was in big trouble hahahaha

Way too much wrestling last weekend to watch entire shows so I only watched Danielson's match.
I suspect many also tuned in mostly to watch Danielson but I guess we'll see when the breakdown comes out, might be completely wrong.

In all seriousness, Collision not only holding steady but actually gaining in numbers going against a behemoth like College Football is a really good thing. Completely going against the trend of wrestling doing worse against high profile live sports.

An alternative to college football on sat was a welcome addition imo.

Yeah I personally didn't boycott Collision cause of Punk (I'm usually out on Saturday nights) but there are those who did... but also Punks pettiness led to this being a very much the PunkVerse similar to the Cody Verse

It was the first time I actually watched through an episode of Collision if that counts for anything.

Well deserved, that was the best episode yet of Collision, at least to me.
Also drives home that the weekends where its numbers will suffer are when WWE has a major Saturday card, so Fastlane will likely be an issue, but this is a clear sign they're trending the right way. Hope it keeps up, there's just such a stronger vibe going around since Punk's last hurrah.

It's weird listening to people go on about AEW not having stars on Collision, that Edge is needed to help create new stars and that Danielson's booking of the show is detrimental to the product ("how come a goober like Daniel Garcia can beat Danielson but a stud like Ricky Starks can't!?") ... and then you see this kind of numbers.

Collision feels like must-see TV each week and enjoying the matches/feuds so far.
I didn't watch the FTR match as it was a foregone conclusion but watched the rest of the show and the main event with Bryan/Starks.

8:45-9:00 did not have a commercial break so that shows the power those can have on viewership.
