It's funny, Vince once won a court case against WCW for them having Scott Hall acting like Razor, then you have Adam Copeland show up as basically just Edge, even down to interacting with Christian, yet there is almost no chance of a suit. Insert comment about Vince not caring anymore who goes where, the mass releases and all, etc. etc. (That and it's Nick's decisions now, I guess) I joked that there'd be no Montreal Screwjob today and Bret would be encouraged to bring the belt to Nitro, LOL. On another topic, I love how Adam himself and other sources are stressing that he has no bad blood with WWE and that he appreciates them, etc. etc. Only cause you know how ineffective it'll be in today's Us vs. Them society.

Netflix just released a new series, but I really don't want to see Adam do any Castlevania shit in AEW. The best thing the Judgement Day did was kick him out of it, and I don't want to see Collision opened with a purple light shining down on Copeland dressed like Vlad Tepes telling the crowd how their Sports team choked in the playoffs last season.

I'm interested in to see how he does. My over all thought is this was a move I feel AEW needed to make in order to bring some better PR into there direction and hope to gain back some lost fans, I mean the low attendance as of late is a concern. When it wasn't long ago the attended from last night show was a normal weekly show and get bigger crowds for the PPV. There was a star power that Punk brought that was a void that they needed to fix. This was the best and really the only choice AEW had to fill it.
Booking with standing because IMO they shouldn't need it but in a whole different thread on the usage of select talent. The match I most want to see is Adam vs Omega.

I mean, I guess if he’s committed to working every week, might as well get him off and running. Well shit, that arena is 10 minutes from my house...

If you look at it from a sports perspective, it’s a pretty legitimate trade.
AEW, in need of a solid veteran presence in the locker room after the CM Punk fiascos, acquired reliable hand, steady presence, and all-around good guy Adam Copeland from WWE.
In exchange, WWE builds its young roster depth by landing Jade Cargill and Brian Pillman Jr., one who has all the makings of an instant main eventer, and a second-generation prospect with a lot of upside.

I wasn't overly excited about Edge in AEW. Unless he was heeling it with Christian but can't say that last night wasn't an awesome moment. And AEW's track record with veterans is pretty damn good. Jeff Jarrett says hello.
And take Christian. Nobody cared when he joined, was a bit of a joke. But look at him now. If they do something similar with Edge then I could be won over. Plus seeing him in a new fresh enviroment with a bunch of exciting new talent to face and hearing that he'll be there every week. I'm more optimistic on this signing

Edge jumping is a big deal because he was always considered a WWE lifer, it'd be like if Orton jumped.

Edge returning at the Rumble was a cool moment, but it was mostly downhill from there. My kids never really got into Edge. They were bored to tears with the Wrestlemania match against Orton. Maybe, he'll get more out of this AEW run than his WWE return run.
I'm a little surprised they can do the "you think you know me" spot in the theme song still since that goes back to old school Edge.

to be petty, they're gonna change Jade's finisher to Jaded Edge or something.

Yeah, it's "You think you know him." A lot of speculation is that it's Beth Phoenix saying it now instead of the old WWF/WWE clip. Wonder if Jim Johnston recorded someone to say that while creating his original theme, or if it came from a production music library?

I'll be amazed if AEW ever come close to being remotely regretful over losing Pillman

Too bad they didn’t go the old TNA route and call him something like Corner lol. I wasn’t all that enamored with his WWE return but I’ll give him a shot in a new environment. Didn’t think I’d ever see him anywhere but in a WWE ring.

Honestly I really hate this and it soured the whole PPV for me because I was waiting for it, so will have to rewatch it. A 4-year-old company with an incredible roster, full of people who deserve opportunities, and the PPV ends with the debut of a guy whose first world title was nearly 20 years ago, overshadowing the hard work of their roster. It doesn't sit right with me, to be honest. It's not what I want AEW to be. Hopefully he and the booking can change my mind about this. Guy, literally the first AEW World Champion was a 49-year old whose first world title win occured 18 years prior.

Being fair even at the time a lot of people were mad over that decision for that reason.

Been singing Metalingus all day lol
I'm excited to see where this goes. Like Christian before him, it's going to take a while for him to adjust to life away from the WWE, both in ring and in terms of creative control.
But he knows the consensus on his return from retirement isn't glowing praise, he's gonna be motivated as hell. And AEW have a proven track record of hitting it out of the park with these veteran runs.
