At this rate, AEW is going to sign every wrestler named "Adam".

Edge is the type of fan turned wrestler who wants to wrestle everyone but WCW went under just as he was starting out and TNAs peak coincided with the start of his main event push so he’d have been a fool to leave.
Mad that a 25 year veteran is only now getting the chance to work outside of the Titan system but timing made it that way.

That Sheamus match he had said otherwise about him being washed Dude can still go, he just needs to find the right storyline, recapture some of that old Edge That is one match he had where he got to do all his shit in a blaze of glory The question is can he do this week to week. I hope so but a 50 year old man should not really be leaned on for epics either imo Dont think he'll be asked to do it every week tbh, in the quantity they ask of him? Possibly

I'm really interested to see what he can do outside of WWE. He's been WWE and WWE only for so long so it'll be interesting to see if he can reinvent himself in the same way Christian has. And hey, we're definitely going to get a Brood reunion at some point, even if only for one night. And it can even be an extended Brood with the Hardys in there too, lmao. Matt just liked or posted some fan art recently if the five of them together as The Brood. even with my objections bout jeff that’d be pretty sick

No surprise I hope he does well, I think he is washed but he brings name value to AEW and something new for him It's possible, but (and I don't mean this as a slight to WWE) I did get the impression that Edge had a lot he wanted to do creatively that for various reasons didn't happen in WWE. So I do wonder how much having significant creative freedom will invigorate him. This did feel like a pretty huge angle and there are plenty of ways to go with it. Edge made his name as the Ultimate Opportunist and is CHristian's best friend. Darby and Sting both also have a long history of being naive and being betrayed by people who were closer to them than Edge ever was. So there's intrigue there I want to see him go a different direction sooner than later, tbh. I get why they did everything they did for this particular debut - calling him the Rated R Superstar, having Metalingus, using the similar iconography in the video - but he needs to do different shit now.

i never really saw edge as washed in wwe but what i did find VERY concerning was the amount of matches he should've clearly lost and won. especially that mania HIAC match against finn
he'll be second fiddle to christian cage but isn't everyone else on the AEW roster at this point?

No surprise I hope he does well, I think he is washed but he brings name value to AEW and something new for him Yeah it's really a matter of how unleashed he'll be with the promos and how much he can do. I'm not expecting some Bryan type guy nor am I expecting a, hell, Moxley level dude. If he can get me to a passable match then I'll be fine as long as his promos are good. He has an assload of opponents to really go with now tho This is really just the gravy train for him

Let him get matches with people he probably thought he would never run against. Besides that, this is new for him. He is obviously going to be over but it is a new locker room, new establishment so without question he is going to bring his A game to the table Just a matter of how long his body holds up but he is an invaluable asset who they could used a few months ago during the Punk nonsense

The MJF angle is already written as Copeland is another wrestler that MJF met as a kid, lmao

He is going to have no filter, he is jumping off shit Color me surprised if at some point we don't get an TLC redo before it is all said and done. If Dudleys didn't sign Legends Deal with WWE, they probably would have ran it back

I was kind of hoping he'd turn out to still be attached to using The Other Side just so for a second everyone would think Judgment Day was coming out.

I think this was very similar to Cody leaving AEW for WWE. A good move for all parties. I think Edge really gets to stretch his wings creatively, and as you said WWE didn't really need him.

I mean if I’m a 50 year old dude with a history of neck issues and some dude is willing to pay me an obscene amount of money anyway that my company wouldn’t match, I’d probably jump at it too. Good for Edge.
I can’t say I’m particularly excited about it as a wrestling fan.

WWE 2K24 will be the first ever WWE/F game to not feature edge, since he debuted in 1998
