Decided to title it this way since it's kind of a big spoiler for anyone watching Dynamite later, given the competition and all.
So THREE TIME CHAMP! Same old Shida, huh?
For real though awesome, glad it happened. Also shout out to the ton of Toni Storm on this show.

Right result, and I guess this means Toni feuds with Ruby and Saraya and doesn't immediately go for the world title which might be better for everyone
Not sure what Shida's first challenger will be in that case though. You'd think Mercedes if she was good to go, Baker's out for a bit to help Adam as she's said so, kinda wide open at the moment. Maybe they build up Skye Blue or Emi starting on Friday.

Give her a decent run this time I know people hate the pandemic stuff but she had a long ass run then She will likely get a longer run than the second one this time, so that's definitely a plus Just a matter of who she faces as challengers, curious what the direction is if it's not immediately Mone

Right move. I was fine with Saraya getting the moment at Wembley especially with Jayme still out long term, but for various reasons Shida makes more sense as champ. Not even hating on Saraya, just right time for now for Shida to be champ

I don't think Toni is going to be the next woman up for the title. There's a "Toni vs Outcasts" feud to do first. Especially if Mariah May comes in as her backup/protege.
Think it would've been a good time for Rosa to make her return, but then I'm also happy that Shida got to celebrate her win. If anyone deserves to be the first three-time champ, it's her.

I'm happy Shida is champ. I just don't like that the title has switched hands so frequently recently and that Shida is on her third run when so many awesome women haven't even had a decent championship match. I'd rather have seen someone like Willow win it for the first time.

This probably sets up Thunder Rosa returning to challenge her since she is supposedly good to go.
Also surprising they took it off Saraya already almost figured they were gonna have Toni work her way through Rubi and maybe another road block or two to get back to Saraya to dethrone her but a non title feud works fine to as I do not expect it to be an overly long drawn out feud.

I don't want to get my hopes up for anything being too different but this would be a good time to soft reset the division, reorient things, and start developing more stories around the title. Toni and the Outcasts can do their thing off to the side, but division needs a better sense ofd what it's doing, if literally anything, beyond that world now that they're all seemignly out of the title picture.

I kind of get the impression that once it became clear that Jayme was out long term as well as Mercedes Monet being injured, Tony/AEW's interest in the Outcasts being the main title feud went away

Supposedly Saraya winning the belt was a late decision anyway so I'm guessing this is less changing plans and more reverting to what was already the plan.

Toni/Outcast could be a solid secondary program if they actually put effort in it(fans have been asking for years about doing women feuds without featuring the titles), of course they could add Mariah or idk they could have Saraya recruiting new people for the Outcast, again its up to creative...

I actually agree that a run for someone like a Willow would be career changing and that would have been better, and I say that as a Shida fan.
But... I sort of get it. Shida is like the Moxley of the women's division, not in presentation or style, but in that she's the dependable workhorse who will get something passable out of anyone.
I just sort of felt like Saraya was a UK decision, and then no one really knew what to do from there beyond the Outsiders imploding

I thought it was always just for an obvious hometown pop/lure Mercedes into coming to AEW when she is healed I think it’s a sign that Mercedes debut is coming sooner rather than later. Saraya is rumored to be her first feud and Mercedes isn’t losing her first match but they shouldn’t put the title on a part timer or a debutant (bit too TNA) so reliving Saraya of the title is a sign she is on her way.

Happy for Shida, is Saraya any good in the ring since her return? I’ve never pay attention to any of her matches but she looked awfully stiff in her posture out there, must be difficult for her to move around with that previous injury.

She's been gradually having better matches since she's been wrestling more consistently the last few months I'd argue. Taking a lot more bumps

I honestly am fine with Saraya having had it. She was never going to be a long-term champion, but she got a few defenses in, and did a better job of it than a lot of people would have likely anticipated. Glad they didn't have it outstay its welcome, though.
