Yeah, can't say I'm super excited about this. The art and animation look great but I don't have the same nostalgia for Dragon Ball as I do Z and this along with GT always seem to be wanting to relive that era a bit. Would rather following up on Super Hero and Broly. I’ll die on the hill of Dragon Ball being a way better show then DBZ I like the movie No not that one, this one Unilike Dragonball Evolution this was at least so bad it's good, and not just miserable.

I will say this, Saiyan Scholar on youtube got me to go back and rewatch Dragonball GT. While it isn't great, there are some very good ideas in there and as he said it's clearly a love letter to the original Dragonball.
I think it's at the point where they do have to do something different if they want to keep going with Dragonball content. You can only go with the "new power up" arc so many times

You can only go with the "new power up" arc so many times I get that line of thinking but let's be honest, most people watching Dragon Ball (insert here) at this point is banking off their love of Z more than the original DB. So love letters to the original really isn't appealing to the fanbase as a whole. And for transparency sake I will put myself in that category myself. This new show just feels like a giant step back and kinda dumb when the Super manga is still going and Super Hero was such a hit.

Rewatching it, there's a lot of boring/bad but some good ideas (Black Star Dragonballs, Baby, Shadow Dragons) but as you said it's tough to go back to the adventure arcs of Dragonball so quickly after how amazing Z was (plus apparently the English Dub removed a lot which made the GT English Dub make even less sense at times). I did love Super Hero and how they covered it in the manga was good. I was just saying I feel they're trying to get away and expand the universe... especially with rumors that Super is coming back to anime soon as well

This looks like a food anime with fighting in it.

This looks like a food anime with fighting in it. If that was the case we could've just watched Fighting Foodons.

I might catch this if I have time, but it isn't a priority for me unlike a Super continuation or follow-up would be. I don't have much interest in this. I'd be lying if I said I'm not disappointed by the regressive direction.

Goku as a kid was great in Dragonball. But it should not have been done in GT, and it shouldn’t be done now, just move on after TOP.
On a side note, one thing I’d like to see is a prequel following Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa before they invaded earth, maybe show glimpses of Vegeta good side
