It sucks to see another part of early AEW disappearing, but he obviously had an eventful run both in front of and behind the camera. If he's going to WWE, it wouldn't surprise me given his training prowess.

The part of Pharaoh will now be played by QT Marshall.

Good riddance. One of the absolute worst talents on the roster. Absolute channel changer

This feels…off. QT is explicitly saying things in AEW are changing and he doesn’t want to be part of it. Weird situation.

Anyone else see QT's documentary from like 2018?

I wonder what he means by “the company is heading in a different direction?”

QT did a lot of good behind the scenes that cannot be taken for granted, but from the little that came out of the contract negotiations it did seem like AEW was not that interested in QT being on tv and QT kind of wanted that.
Also seemed like when AEW would sign people and want them training they were sending less to QT's school and more to either Dustin or to Gangrel's school (or to Ohio under Sami Callihan and Jake Crist).
Guessing it's a case of the two sides having different views of what to do

I thought QTV was awful, but most of his other on-screen stuff was fine. He just ate a few pins and didn't do much else.
I can't really speak to the quality of his work backstage because I'm not really sure what he was involved with creatively and what he wasn't. But a lot of people want change backstage in AEW and this is definitely change.

I mean who was the best student out of QTs school? Julia Hart?

Guessing it's a case of the two sides having different views of what to do Gangrel trained Miro, so that definitely is a feather in his cap. (Rikishi also trained him, but knowing Rikishi, I have to wonder if he actually did it or Shawn Michaels to Bryan Danielson'd it and just cashed his check.)

Even then, Julia Hart was originally trained by Ken Anderson's school.

This feels…off. QT is explicitly saying things in AEW are changing and he doesn’t want to be part of it. Weird situation. Well that's one way to look at it. The other being, if what someone else has said about him being moved away from creative is true, they don't want him to be part of it, at least not in such a hands on role. Can't comment on too much or his backstage role tbh, know he's well thought of by some but really have no clue how much influence he had so won't pretend to know if this is a loss or not. Will say I thought he was majorly underrated on screen, quite funny, got decent heat and is pretty great in the ring, plus well spoken of as a trainer. I think if someone had said 18 months ago Cody (who was being relentlessly booed), QT (involved in a load of stuff people hated), Jade (who I was a fan of but had plenty of detractors), CM Punk (nuff said) and the likes of Sonny Kiss, Brock Anderson and Brian Pillman Jr were the major departures most people would have been pretty ok with that. Think the one I'll miss most is genuinely The Bunny. I imagine it will all be spun quite differently though.

If he and Sonjay have been responsible for some of AEW's recent creative, I'd let them go, too

I still remember his whole ratio thing when it came to the women's matches.
I would hope the change in direction is saying screw that, more women's matches.

That was a bad sign that made it look like QT didnt care for the division, if he was one of the reasons why the division has been bad then good riddance.

I hated QTV in the worst way but loved booing QT in the best way. He was a talented undercard dude that I honestly think worked best in The Factory. Wish him well.

Probably Anna Jay, but ever since her injury it feels like AEW has lost interest in her, and I don't think AEW really ever had interest in Lee Johnson. I don't think QT was bad or anything or even disliked but from little stories that have come out it just feels like QT's ideas for QT Marshall were very different from AEW's... hell, when they were talking about renewing him the reports indicated that QT was using his AAA run as a bargaining chip for AEW, and Tony just wasn't that impressed/interested.

QT resigned because he cannot balance his wrestling "career" with his one true desire: The PBA Tour.

QT was a great worker on Dark/Elevation and has done great work in AAA, so this bums me out. Perfect old school midcard heel type that could take losses no problem and also elevate those who worked with him (he made Action Andretti look like gold).
