In fall 1996, there were a few matches featuring some sort of combination of Mankind, Vader, and Steve Austin. They all faced each other in different one on one fights.

There was a match in the mid 90's between a face Bret Hart vs. a face 1-2-3 Kid that was a good match.

It's only lesser known compared to their other battles but Ric Flair vs Sting in the summer of 93 on Saturday Night is a masterclass in how to properly do a face vs face match. Might be my favorite of their bouts.

In '86, they had Sheik and Volkoff going against both the Harts and Valentine/Beefcake in heel vs. heel matches. Since Sheik and Volkoff were so hated, the other team got cheers. For face vs. face, there was a Tito Santana vs. Koko B. Ware match from MSG that aired on Prime Time in early 1991 and was on one of the compilation tapes. Koko was acting heelish and tempers were flaring. I thought they were actually turning him, but he was back to being regular Koko afterward. EDIT: Post above beat me to it. I remember in his High Energy days Koko cut a one off heelish promo after Owen did a standard face one. Monsoon wondered what was up with Koko, but it was never mentioned again.

One of Mikey Whipwreck’s ECW title defenses was against Rey Mysterio.

The 1994 RAW angle/match between heels Bam Bam Bigelow and Bastion Booger.

In early 2005, just a couple of months after turning heel, Edge randomly got a shot at Triple H's World title on Raw.

There was also a Money Inc. vs. Beverly Brothers match in April 1993 on RAW. RAW was pretty good at building little mini-feuds from week to week with short, contained storylines. I seem the remember the week before Money Inc. had tried to buy the brothers' knowledge of battling the Steiners and they had gotten involved in an IRS vs. Scott match, but they had given "intentionally bad advice" leading to the heel vs heel match.

If anyone was long overdue for a refresh in the WWF early '90s, it was Koko. I would have enjoyed a heel run. My guess is they wouldn't go through with it because they thought he was too short to be a villain.

In early 2005, just a couple of months after turning heel, Edge randomly got a shot at Triple H's World title on Raw. I remember they wanted to do that match at Taboo Tuesday a few months earlier. Edge's story was he was going through all of Evolution to get to HHH. He had wins over Orton/Flair/Batista but lost all crowd support before they could even do HHH/Edge. Even the Toronto crowd booed him at Summerslam. Still, I think they figured he would win the poll to face HHH at Taboo Tuesday simply because the other options HBK and Benoit had already been done so much that year but babyface Edge was so stale he still didn't get the vote and finally turned heel that night which was the best thing to ever happen to him.

1995, Duke Droese vs Marty Jannetty. The Dumpster was acting all heelish during the match, but was a face again by next week.

Speaking of 1995, they had King Mabel vs. Yokozuna at that horrible In Your House #4 show from Winnipeg.

Godwins vs Quebecers at No Way Out 1998 is extremely random. That post Bret period until about WrestleMania is very random.
Bad Blood 1997 - Owen Hart vs Faarooq
Raw the next night has Rock vs Bulldog
I want to say that Undertaker vs Kane at Judgment Day 1998 is heel vs heel, but I don't know. Taker was kind of a tweeter.
I would also say Kidman vs Juventud the night after Fall Brawl 1998 is face vs face, too.

Power & Glory faced The Orient Express in 1991. It was on the Ramoage 91 home video release. I think P&G were the de facto faces due to Sean Mooney laughing at Kato falling for a truck that Paul Roma played on him during the match by asking him to do a grapple like move. (Cant reamember what it was.)

Edge & Christian turned heel straight after WM 2000 and at Backlash successfully defended the titles against the heel dollar store DX.

Wasn't there an Austin vs. HHH match when they were both heels in the fall of 96?

The first match between Hogan and Sting on nitro never gets talked about. It was their best match by mile, made even better by the fact that the crowd was so partisan for Sting over babyface Hulk.
