I think the problem they see with him managing is that he's well Big... and you'd probably expect someone his size to be able to take minor bumps... and he can't. And even if you didn't, if something went wrong - someone missed a spot or fell off a thing and landed on or hit him - it could be disastrous. I could definitely see him doing some kind of commentary or backstage role, but I would be terrified to see him anywhere near a match.

He’s very popular behind the scenes so I assume he’s been offered a route into commentary or producing but he is more focused on a non-wrestling career.

Danielson mentioned that working as GM was very difficult for him because he was so close to doing what he loved but he couldn't be fully in it. It's possible that might hold Big E back from doing something non-wrestling full time. But he's a talented guy so I'm sure he'll be successful doing whatever he does.

Big E had a great career in WWE. - A member of one of the greatest teams of all time. - WWE Champion. - Intercontinental Champion. - Raw Tag Champion. - SmackDown Tag Champion. - Money in the Bank - NXT Champion.
So, yeah. He had an awesome career in WWE. While I would love to see him return to active competition, I don't want him to do it at the expense of his health. I do agree with those that said that he should be a presence on WWE TV every week, because he's just so damn likeable and charismatic.

Wouldn't no new bone forming at the fracture site be concerning toward everyday life? In my head it seems like that would be an issue, even if it has healed fully fibrously. .

He could be like this generation's Commissioner Foley.

I can't see him doing commentary while wrestlers are being thrown into the announce tables on a regular basis.

Edge suffered spinal cell stenosis or something along those lines in 2011…and after neck surgery in 2012, he came back in 2020. Wouldn’t Big E be able to eventually be cleared if he took perfect care of himself?

If he's not on TV, he'd make a great PR ambassador for WWE.

Wouldn’t Big E be able to eventually be cleared if he took perfect care of himself? Not necessarily. Canterbury and Edge both had spinal fusion surgery, which actually made the bones in their necks stronger at the cost of some flexibility (and in Edge's case the new bone was pressing on his spinal cord). If I'm reading what Big E wrote correctly, he also had fusion surgery but the bones in his neck haven't fused yet (and potentially never will), and as such aren't as weak as they were when he broke it but they're significantly weaker than they were before he broke it. If there isn't any bone growth there's no chance of him returning to the ring.

Wouldn’t Big E be able to eventually be cleared if he took perfect care of himself? C1/C2 fractures are different, because it's so high up, close to the brain stem. It's why Tyson Kidd also hasn't returned. Here's what he said about his C1/C2 fractures: Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Kidd reiterated that he will not wrestle again. “I mean, I know they say never say never. But I've said never for the last eight years. No, the truth is I can do probably in some things I can do like 99% of the move. I just can't do the actual bump, or you know, and I'm sure maybe I could take a couple but at what cost? I don't know, I haven't taken one. So there is no point to me," he said. Adam Copeland, Steve Austin, Saraya, and more have returned from neck injuries to get back in the ring. However, Kidd's neck injury is different from his peers. "I get those messages a lot and I get that mindset. I understand where that comes from. I believe Steve Austin has the second highest, at least in terms of WWE wrestlers, in terms of how high their fusion is. His was, I think a C three and C four. Most of the normal one is like C five and six, or six and seven, mine C one and C two, the very top two vertebrae in your body minor fused. That's the difference. That's why even when it happened when I posted the picture of the scar, the staples in the back. One of the benefits of joining the broken neck club is, as I refer to it, Steve Austin becomes a friend of yours and he reaches out to you and your text and phone call all the time. But I posted that picture and within like 20 minutes, Austin was either calling me or texting me. And he's like, Kid why did they go through the back? Why not through the front? And I explained what Steve it's the equivalent of where they went is the equipment in my mouth. That's when my fusion is adjacent to my mouth," he said.

While it would suck to never see him wrestle again, I think they should find a prominent non-physical TV role for him. He's too charismatic to not be a presence in some way! I don't know if anyone has watched that Next Gen reality show on The Roku Channel. Big E is on it and does really well, IMO.
