When Shad turned heel and came back wearing what looked like a shower cap as a pair of trunks basically ruined any singles' credibility he may have had.
D'Lo Brown and Chaz did this twice, both by adopting track pants as a tag team, then going on to wrestle in Sikh garb.
Both Koko B. Ware and Owen Hart as High Energy. Unless you are a big guy, "suspenders" don't look good on wrestlers...and yes, that includes Double J.
Crush was great as Kona Crush...but looked stupid with the half face paint when he turned heel.
Christian was wearing singlets for a while when he was tagging with Jericho. Thankfully he eventually dropped it when he cut his hair. His attire looked notoriously cheap at this time.
Kurt Angle wore a lot of unappealing singlets after he had his head shaved. I didn't even like his Team Angle singlets, although I liked the warm up hoodies. Most of Angle's best attire came in his first 2 years in the business.
It shouldn't count since he only made two appearances but Friar Ferguson turning into Bastion Booger. Just gross TV.
The Colons becoming the tacky looking Madadors. Oh and Tito Santana become a Matador.
And someone like Undertaker who once he became the Deadman again in 2004, I wish he would have embraced more of the look he had in the mid 90's instead of just sticking with being the UFC Deadman. Wasn't bad, but definitely he worst look and one he held onto for nearly 2 decades.

I always saw the suspenders as obnoxious in a heelish in-character way, similar to his entrance attire with the blinking lights, or Johnny B. Badd's frilly tights. Ridiculous, yes, but it fit the character. His '98 return attire with ponytail was just dorky to me.

Macho Man's cool three star trunks to Macho King and long tights and those awful cowboy hats. Hard disagree. The old three-star trunks, robes, and headband look was okay, but the cowboy look is absolutely iconic and is always how I remember Macho Man. Both are iconic. But yeah, I prefer the trunks and robes. I can't shake even Apter commenting in one of his mags, "How can a guy in a lime green fedora and jacket with tassels call himself the 'Macho Man'?" The shirt era from 1991-1995 or so I really didn't like.

Face Adam Bomb with the blue version of his old tights, and no more cool contacts. OR COOL THEME SONG.

Road Warriors to Legion of Doom Not a hard gimmick change, but a character change for sure. Tweener asskickers in all black to kid friendly eccentrics with bright red ring entrance gear. Then came LOD 2000...no more mohawks, and Animal with trunks?!!?

SWAT Team Bossman and Rhythm and Blues Greg Valentine both come to mind.

I always preferred the Mortis look to Kanyon's more generic attire.

Neidhart had done some stupid thing again so Vince punished him by giving him a gimmick where he wore a mask and was called "Who" which was a reference to an old vaudeville bit. Well that’s just great Seymour. We’ve been out here six seconds and you’ve already blown the routine.

Although, I'm not sure sparkly sequin robes to colorful jackets with tassels is really the massive jump Apter is suggesting.

Yea what was up with British Bulldog in jeans? And I recall some kind of hiking boots?
Wouldnt that be uncomfortable to wrestle in? Why wouldnt he go back to his old signature look?
He looked so blah and nondescript in jeans. And apparently (I totally forgot) Rule Brittania was changed to some forgettable techno screechy stuff.
Was he pissed at his home country at the time? Just the guy had his whole identity erased and became Joe Generic.

I know people love this but I really didnt like when UT became the crow taker or bat taker whatever that was. Thought him entering from the rafters in his match vs Mankind was kind of cheesy. Had his bat wings cape spread open like he was being lowered to the stage during some high school stage production of Dracula. Didnt like the hair out of his face or the lack of gravedigger gloves (grey was best but he may have been wearing the purple ones then).
