I think combining the finish of the I quit match with the screwy way Blake won is the bigger issue.
Arguably the biggest show of the year should have had the cathartic moment of Effy's revenge or a new champion (if not both).
Even wwe has happy endings these days. If it can't be a face win then Blake winning clean would at least have been an ending. Smaller shows having screwy finishes to build to bigger cards makes sense, the other way not so much.

Finally tally, between Thursday morning and the end of XL Sunday I watched 43.5 hours of wrestling. Not including anything from WO/F4W Video. I don’t think I left my house the entire time 😳 Did you record how much of that was the collective? I'm not sure I could take WM on top. I'm still going but might tap out. Any stand out matches from Effy's big gay brunch or for the culture?

Here’s my breakdown (yes I keep track, it’s a personal challenge every Mania weekend to see how much wrestling I can watch over 4 days haha) Thursday 11.5 hours -Defy 2.5 h -Bloodsport 2.5 h -Stardom 2 h -DDT 2 h -GCW vs The World 2.5 h Friday 13.5 hours -TJPW 2 h -WR x HoG 2 h -JJSB 4 h -SDL 1.5 h -ROH 4 h Saturday 12.5 hours -NXT 3 h -Progress 2.5 h -XL Sat. 4 h -Cluster 3 h Sunday 6 hours TJPW vs. 2 h XL Sun. 4 h EDIT: I made the decision to not drink this year, made it much easier cramming in shows from 12-4am hahaha

I think the interference from all the previous Mance vs. EFFY matches would lead in nicely to the Cage of Survival. Granted, cages aren't exactly foolproof in stopping people from leaving and entering and CoS even has openings so the participants can get more shit, but at least the progression makes sense there. Meanwhile, Blake's reign has been going on for too long and so few of his matches even get the top slot, that it was rather disheartening to see him slither out of Spring Break with the title. Twice even, since they decided to swerve us with that pointless segment between the Punjabi Prison and the Clusterf***.

Joey's build to the title match was incredibly weak and had more to do with Missy Hyatt than him. His involvement with AEW and other indie promotions has, to me at least, also moved him a long way from being a "GCW guy". If they were going to strap up someone else, should've given it back to Masha, or elevated someone who could use the GCW title as a stepping stone to a new level. Alec Price, Jordan Oliver, or Gringo Loco all would have been great choices. For my part though, I was fine with Blake winning. It's amusing to me some people seem more upset about this than Wrestlemania last year having a screwy finish to the ME.

Not that Effy vs. Mance needs a title, but I think both guys deserve it and feel like they both should have been champions years ago. It would probably fix some of the issues in their feud and the title picture.
