Here's a fun example in real time: when I saw the memorial thread for Tracy Torme, I immediately thought of singer Tracey Thorn of Everything But The Girl. Then I Googled her and realized the person I was picturing in my head was actually actress Tracie Thoms from Rent.

Okay, I'm going in somewhat obscure territory. Unless you live in Northern California and are familiar with one of the singers who I am about to mention, you probably had never heard of either of them. However, the other one had a couple of singles in the late-1990s and I remember at least one of them getting airplay. The two singers had gone by their first names (Davina), but at same point, there were other names, like last names or middle names added.
Davina Bussey
Davina Joy
I recall having heard of the former because my uncle had her CD a long time ago, as well as hearing those songs way back when. However, I remember I discovered the existence of the latter in the late-2000s and noticed she was not the same person. For a while, the latter has been referred to as Davina Joy.

There's Kevin Smith, the filmmaker that created Jay and Silent Bob.
Then there's Kevin Max Smith, one of the members of Christian rock band DC Talk, who actually had his name legally shortened to just "Kevin Max" in 1997. He's apparently said he changed his name as a tribute to his father, but I'd always heard it was partly because people were confusing him for the filmmaker after DC Talk started gaining more popularity during the middle half of the 90s.

I forget if I've mentioned it yet, but Beef Wellington/Biff Wellington has been the name of like 4-5 wrestlers, at least. Is it such a good name they keep going to that?

Well there's Patti Smith and Patty Smyth, both mainly known for their music. They also both have a connection to the 1970s/1980s New York punk scene, given that Patty Smyth was briefly married to Richard Hell.

There was also New Zeeland actor Kevin Smith, best known for playing Ares on the Hercules and Xena shows. He passed away in 2002.

There's another will smith on... I want to say the Angels. Maybe the Dodgers There's also a Will Smith who just played in the IIHF Under 20 World Junior Hockey Championships and is a 4th overall draft pick of the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. Still no word on how his slap shot is. There’s Michael Jordan, basketball player and Michael B. Jordan, Black Panther and Creed star.

There's always the two ages of Gary, those being Newman and Oldman. And Gary Numan is older than Gary Oldman.

The chances of two people being named "Kevin Smith" is one thing; Kevin is a not uncommon first name, Smith is a very uncommon last name. The chances of you having than name with a band called DC Talk, and the man you share a name with being known for having at length discussions about his work on Superman Lives (literally DC [Comics] talk) has to feel like he's doing it on purpose after a point.

Tom Holland and Tom Hollander (and presumably Tom Hollandest) There is also Tom Holland, the horror film director. He directed "Fright Night," "Child's Play," and "Thinner." I am surprised no one mentioned this. Also, my latest contribution: Dr. Dre (Andre Young; rapper/producer known for his work with N.W.A., co-founder of Death Row Records, founder of Aftermath Entertainment, as well as Beats by Dre) Doctor Dre (Andre Brown; Known for his work with Ed Lover, as well as being an MTV VJ, especially for "Yo! MTV Raps") I also remembered this recently, even though one of them is obscure, because unless you're a big hip-hop enthusiast like me, you may likely not know who one of these two is, unless you were familiar with No Limit Records. Crooked I (Also known as "Kxng Crooked") - From Long Beach, California. He was a part of Death Row Records at one point. I think he is mostly known for his work with Slaughterhouse. Crooked Eye - From Oakland, California. One-half of Steady Mobb'n, a rap duo that was signed to No Limit Records in the late-1990s.
