So with this new theme and leaning into the EVP thing….
Matthew - Kendall Roy
Nicholas - Roman Roy
The other Brother who’s name escapes me that’s not a wrestler - Conner Roy
Cutler - Cousin Greg
Still trying to figure out who Shiv & Tom are in this equation….to say nothing of Logan (Papa Buck EVP doesn’t strike me as a Logan type)

I really want to see a Darby Allin vs Brandon Cutler Match now on Rampage or Collision after he throttled him into the ground on that promo lol

Even if I don’t find the cutler tweets as funny as some, I think the bucks and the Darby Allen promo was great as it blurred lines. It seems that Dave meltzer is not a fan of the Darby promo and called it counter productive, and mentioned Russo. Either he’s playing along or he genuinely doesn’t get wrestling like many people think he does.

Like being annoyed that Darby didn’t specifically mention the attack on Sting even though the Bucks are wearing a suit covered in blood. Fans aren’t idiots. They didn’t forget why the blood is on their suits.

The Cutler line slightly annoyed me just because I didn’t think it really made sense for what he was complaining about
I mean he’d already had his debut for AEW in a time limit draw and in the 2nd & 3rd dynamite episodes he won a #1 contenders match and fought for the AEW title
……Yeah Brandon Cutler was on the debut episode….beaten in less than 3 minutes so I don’t think he’s the winner anyway that you slice that comparison lol
Anyway that’s just a minor quibble, I just needed to get that out ha
The soul patches were another great touch and I liked how it all played out especially post match. Tbh knowing what the bucks are like I thought Tony got off pretty light with the fine amount

Meltzer more so brought up the fact that Darby was using lines and phrases that come from the worst of wrestling fans and a certain tennis racket podcaster as BABYFACE LINES. That's the main problem, and he's right. Using phrases like "All Friends Wrestling" and "Cucamonga Kids" as babyface lines gives credence to and legitimizes the worst of wrestling fandom and certain podcasters. And I'm not even going to get into Darby saying that the best EVP was Cody and having the audience chant Cody.

I don't think they should shy away from certain lines just because they're similar to things Cornette and the like have said. I doubt Darby didn't loop the Bucks in on what he was going to say. I enjoyed the promo because it introduced a new layer to their feud. They should address the beatdown more directly but that's on Sting when he's back. This tied their history together and gave more heat to the Bucks. I also don't mind mentioning Cody. You can't tell Darby's history without him.

The way I saw it was Darby accepted the match but in such a whiney unhinged way that maybe it is supposed to sew some possible seeds of issues between him and Sting? Do they dare tease Darby turning heel on Sting in his last match?

I don't think it's a big deal, if you're going to have the Bucks in this role where they just play up to what people say about them you'll get the odd line that feels awkward as a lot of their critics don't necessarily say things in good faith, but when it's combined with Darby who always sounds a bit like a heel when he does shoot style promos it makes it slightly uncomfortable.

He wrestled for a little while, but quit because he hated the travel, I think? In any case, decided it wasn't for him. Brandon Cutler's got a brother, too, Dustin Cutler, but he retired from wrestling, too.

I don't mind any of the shots, it's really not any new AEW territory to blur lines in a promo or for Darby to go for the throat and take deeper cuts like this, on top of that yeah Darby kind of accepted a tag title match for Sting for his last match at Revolution, that is the exact opposite of forgetting the beatdown, they want revenge lol

Although I'm sure the gift card was a dig at Punk, it's also just a dig at corporate life in general. I've worked in places where management thought a low value gift card for places you might not even shop at was a good replacement for being treated well or having a better salary. A gift card is better than nothing but sometimes it just feels insulting and that's what the Bucks were aiming for.
