I didn't love the promo, but I at least appreciate the direction and what they were going for here. I think for this particular feud, the characters will work. I wonder how this is going to work out in the long run, though. Crowds will boo them now because it's Sting, but this is so clearly parody and a play on some of the Punk stuff lately that I think it's going to get AEW's core audience to just cheer them as hard as they were before the character changes. The people they're heeling for (like the cult of he who shall not be named) don't seem to actually watch the TV show. They just listen to the recaps. I don't want to turn this into another how heels should act vs. how faces should act discussion, but this was just my initial observation. I wouldn't be surprised if my take doesn't age well, but it's just how I felt after watching that promo. I think there's a chance that happens because this Bucks schtick is already hilarious with the potential to get even more hilarious, but I also think that the core AEW crowds usually boo even the heels they like (Christian, for example, is wildly popular, but he still gets booed because the crowd recognizes he's doing good heel work). The lone exception to this is the face reaction that Swerve is starting to get, but I think that's because he's presenting as a cool, anti-hero sociopath.

Brandon Cutler needs a website name. Maybe "Inside the Cut"? Source: Inside the Cut Our sources at Inside the Cut say Nickolas and Matthew Jackson have been short listed to receive a key to the City of Louisville, KY. Hopefully we dont ban Brandon Cutler and Inside the Cut,he is no Pete Select but he is a source you can trust

AEW crowds are great about 'buying in' to gimmicks, I don't think it'll be a problem that they're playing to the most sympathetic crowd there. I think conversely, 'heeling for' the Cornette crowd would be some pretty bad TV, because it wouldn't be good heel work to them it would be proof they shoudl be shot in the streets or whatever. Let it be in front of a group who knows it's a gimmick and don't get f***ing insufferable about hating them for real real over what they perceive as how the dudes must surely actually be, and it'll make for a better thing overall. All the Bucks need to do to walk the line is find some ways to draw heat against likable teams and avoid 'going there' on any promos and this should work out well.

I have a feeling the Bucks are about to have a crazy run of feuds against legendary tag teams. First, they are Sting's last match, then they retire the Hardys and finally they are the final match for Edge and Christian. A run where they try to rid AEW of the old guard or people that jumped on after AEW had success.
I do feel like they need a singles wrestler with them though. It can't be Kenny right now, but maybe Hangman. Someone that could face guys like Malakai, Miro, Keith Lee, etc. If you flipped the heel/face alignment, you could make a case that Hangman vs Swerve fits. Swerve did join AEW later after initially choosing WWE. Obviously, Omega would fit the EVP role that the Bucks are aiming for.

Hangman would be great but it seems they’re reluctant to turn him heel. I dunno if Perry has the charisma/character for it. MJF would fit but welp. Sammy might fit. Hard to think who’d be a suitable “Corporate Champ”

I think it'd be fun to see Corporate Colt Cabana come out of this. His 2016-2017 ROH heel run as sort of a Batman villain against Dalton Castle was incredible, and he's always been a despicable heel cop in JCW so he does have the range to execute it.
Come to think of it, a Corporate Dalton Castle might be a fun next step for his current lost confidence arch.
Maybe Corporate Ethan Page? He has the mic skills for it and he's imposing and believable.

I see how much fake tan the Bucks had going plus their mustaches...they've made themselves into younger Vinces, haven't they? Need Matt to say something and Nick to just quietly go "It's such good shit..." behind him.
As for who they're heeling against, I think it'll be The Dude's line on Walter: "No, you're not wrong, you're just an asshole!"

Also, I think them going after Sting works pretty perfect for the evil corporate boss trope. By their own admission Sting is a model employee - and we've seen on-screen that he doesn't politic or cause unnecessary drama and always gives it his all. Yet, because of arbitrary designations despite being a "model employee" - he's the one that they're going to use to make a point. It taps into the "good employee who has done nothing wrong singled out by an overbearing boss to make a point" that we've all experienced in the workforce at some point in our lives.

I don't want to fantasy book this too much because I have no clue where he ends up. But can you imagine the singles wrestler the Bucks bringing in on their side being Okada?

y'all remember how the promo last night ended with them saying they had an important meeting/phone call and seemed like a throw away bit to show how important they think they are?
what if it turns out it is part of a storyline because they were meeting/calling okada?

They should be going by their actual God-given names: Matthew and Nicholas Massie.
