The blood brother thing is legit. It’s a very real thing in Polynesia and among Native Americans(and likely other cultures as well). It has always bothered me when people say that the Rock isn’t really part of the dynasty. The Samoan Periodic table was some funny shit though. Wish they could figure out a way to get Haku and the Barbarian in there too. 😂 How exactly does the “blood oath” thing work? Because if it’s literally just pushing two wounds together it sounds like some little kid stuff. If that’s what it takes to be brothers then I guess that makes Swerve and Hangman Page brothers. Psst hey maybe the traditions of a culture you're not part of aren't the best material to riff on for snarky forum posts

Yeah, Rock is only considered part of the Anoa'i family because Peter Maivia was a blood brother (which was a very real thing and not some Game of Thrones-inspired fiction) of the Anoa'i patriarch Amituanai. He and his direct descendants were essentially adopted into the larger Anoa'i clan. I apologize for my initial comment then because I genuinely did not know this was a thing, I just saw Blood Oath and did a double take because it sounded so out of left field Fair enough that it's a deep rooted tradition, I never meant for it to be rude I was reacting in the moment because the way I imagined it didn't boil down to it essentially meaning adoption into the clan, which makes perfect sense.

As somewhat of an aside (since she's on the chart), I'm only now learning that Tamina retired?

I mean, the blood oath thing really isn't that hard to explain even without the lens of the culture around it. Tons of people have folks they're not technically related to who they still wholeheartedly consider family to the point they might as well be and sometimes those bonds can become generational. It's really not weird.

It's really not weird. I basically only have 2 people that I'm close to in my life. One is in love with the idea of "found family". The other is very much not comfortable at all with it.

Excuse me, but if there is one thing that can breed and keep up at the same pace of the Samoans, it's the real big dog, Pharaoh!

I can't get that UN PLOMBIER NIGHTMARE name out of my head. I might just go with that and start a Gary Albright gimmick out of nowhere too.

Wish they could figure out a way to get Haku and the Barbarian in there too. 😂 Yeah, the practice has been used in cultures all over the world. It's been used by the people of the Balkans, the Norse, Mongols, other peoples of Eurasia and around the world, too. A similar adoption practice (without the blood component) was also practiced in the Roman Republic and Empire where distant or non-relatives were adopted by prominent men and emperors as heirs. Like the first Roman Emperor Augustus was the great-nephew of Julius Caesar, but Julius adopted him as his son and heir. A lot of the adopted emperors turned out to be much more well-regarded leaders than those who got the position via primogeniture. But I digress.

Only people that have never been involved in wrestling. All of the uso's, solo sikoa's and roman's children plus two of the rock's children. Ata's sister is Nia's mother which is weirdly omitted. I still don't understand what the snukas are to do with any of this ngl
