The hospital thing always sounded like an urban legend where people tried to justify how it could maybe be the reason and then that got telephoned into "people woudl call so they had to stop"

Dont forget when the US Military took down Bin Laden, Cena announced it on the Judgement Day PPV (off air, they showed it on the next nights RAW I believe) as him being "compromised to a permanent end". Thats some whole "he was sent to the shadow realm" type stuff. Have we ever found out exactly why the f*** the Rock was the first one to know about Bin Laden being dead anyway?

Yeah, I just rewatched it (in fairness, most of the PPVs from that era just seem to run together for me).

I was confused…I’ve been to lots of PPVs but was like, “I don’t remember ever attending Judgement Day”.

I remember the first time I saw some WWE after I stopped watching, it had been a while and falling back into the WWE Newspeak just made me even angrier than any of the actual reasons I stopped watching because no human f***ing talks like this

Some of these make sense from a branding perspective, but most of these are just pet peeves for a control freak. It really explains why commentary was dire for so many years, when you’re having to think of how to refer to something as simple as backstage (love that the updated list asks you not to use the phrase they asked you to use previously!).

For as much as WWE has loved them some DQ finishes, I'm trying to wrap my head around if that list is specifically banning abbreviating it as "DQ" or if there was indeed a period where they were stuck saying "this match has been thrown out" or something along those lines.
Also, "Here we go"? Did McMahon have a bad experience with his grandkids playing Mario or something?

What a turnaround.

Extra odd list of words because “interesting ass on those crazy girls” sums up like 95% of the Attitude Era.

I kind of fell off of watching WWE over the last 5 years, but tried to check back in when Cody returned and the product was "hot." The alienspeak is one thing. The absolutely atrocious AR/CGI is another. But those two things together? For me, it was genuinely difficult to watch.

I remember some segment with MVP and somebody else saying "championship opportunity" like 6 times in a minute and it just felt so clunky. "I want a shot at the title" just rolls off the tongue so much easier, but "shot" is/was a banned word. Ugh.

That ban of "me" was why Cookie Monster couldn't be on the Muppet episode.

"Hospital" i get. "Local medical facility" could mean the trainers room. Not when you see them taken away in an ambulance...
