Taven was a pretty poor choice at the time, but I think he's been vindicated by history since then. Choosing not to put the belt on Scurll doesn’t mean they had to put it on Taven.

But that would mean that the belt would've stayed on Jay Lethal and not many people wanted that, as he was especially stale at the time.

Yeah, Taven was a better option, I do genuinely think he was, even if he's probably one of the weakest ROH champions in the belt's history.

I still wear my G1 hat often.
And still haven't seen this entire event.

I’m always surprised Punk never looked at the camera during his promos on the elite and said “Hi Marty.”
Also Dalton Castle losing in like two seconds!? WTH!

The big things i remember about being there were:
Me and my friend trying to figure out what was going on after the tag title match and my reaction being "Oh for f***s sake it's Enzo!"
That one fan getting hit by the ladder. I'm sure he got a nice little payoff after that.
The reactions to Haku, Jushin Liger and The Great Muta in the Honor Rumble.
Just how much the New Japan side of the show was better than ROHs efforts. Even a thing like the Honor Rumble you had all these awesome New Japan wrestlers and some legendary surprises and it only highlighted how far the ROH roster had fallen.

What is it with people who booked diabolical eras of ROH and bad podcasts criticising other people's booking? Well you see the thing is is that the booking was actually always good. It's either management or the fans that are the problem 🙄
