30 was the last critically acclaimed Mania, but I think 40 beat it

30 just for only the fact it was 21-1.
I don't think we will have a memory that big when we compare 50 to 40 in 10 years.

If he has a magical title run, than 100% it will be.

30. Good matches all around. The streak ending was a huge moment. Yes movement reached it's climax. Night 1 for 40 didn't really feel like Mania.

30 was excellent, but we knew that eventually, Vince was gonna take his show back. And boy did he.
40 feels new. Fresh.

30 is the better show probably but it came in a bad time in my life when I had no money, no job and couldn’t afford the show so just read about Taker losing the streak and Bryan winning the title. Not seeing that show live will always be a big regret.
So it’s just 40 for that reason.

I feel like I'm way more likely to rewatch 30, especially if you're taking into account both nights of 40. And I was more emotionally invested in Bryan's journey while with Cody, while I've always been a huge fan, it's more, "Finally that shit's over with!"

40 because of the overall match quality on night 2, night 2 is one of the best things wwe has EVER done.

It's a tough one, but I'll say 40.
I enjoyed the matches more(which may be unfair considering 40 had two nights) But also, I was way more invested in Cody's rise to the top than I was with Bryan ten years ago.
Also, a whole decade later, I'm still unsure how I feel about the ending of the Streak.
Also damn, where does the time go.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, and maybe it isn't fair to compare due to standards changing over time. But Mania 30 was still the era of "let's shove multiple of our women into one 6 minute match because we're obligated to." And with the women being one of my favorite parts of modern WWE, 40 clearly has the advantage there.

40, mainly for night 2.
Mania 30 had some great stuff, but a lot more filler fluff that feels forgettable by comparison.

30 had Paul Orndorff’s mustache, whereas 40 did not.

If he has a magical title run, than 100% it will be. That's something I'm hopeful about with Vince gone. Vince would sometimes give us the babyface win most of us all want, but then would quickly revert to status quo after a forgettable reign(i.e. Kofimania) I'm hoping the current team does great things with Cody.

30, easily. The only thing 40 has on 30 are the women's matches.
The Bryan story was better than Cody's. The stip match at 30 that opens the show is an all-time classic. I don't think anybody will say the same for Night #1's stip match.

40, but 30 had the better opener as far as telling an emotional story in a match.
Overall 40 had better matches, and stuff like Cesaro winning the battle royal and now knowing it led to nothing kind of tarnishes it a bit. No matter how Cody's reign goes, ending The Tribal Chief's reign is such a huge moment because of the two years of build up.

40 feeling like the end of one story, and the beginning of a better one puts it up there.

40.
30 didn't feel like a new beginning but a pit stop.
