I don't know the finer details, but MITB was definitely on TV at 8pm local instead of the usual 1am when in London last year, so I just assumed it would be the same in France this year?
I'm not sure if it was still on in the usual time in the States, but we definitely didn't get it held back 5 hours on our broadcast.

Seems the MITB go home show was in its usual time slot in the States and on delay. Surprised the UK got it live and not held back 5 hours. Hopefully that will be the same for us here, but suspect not.
Edit - just checked my TV guide and it's airing on TNT Sports 1 live at 6pm next week, so must be 7pm local in France and not the usual 8pm, so those in the US will likely be watching it 7 hours later.

It looks like mainly a Smackdown card which makes sense. Maybe, they add one more Raw match like an I-C match, but that is probably it.

I like how it's not "Wrestlemania" backlash anymore.

Zayn v Reed makes sense, but I think theyβre running Theory/Waller v Street Profits on TV the night before, arenβt they?

An extremely underwhelming card. The crowd reaction is what will have to make this show.

I like how it's not "Wrestlemania" backlash anymore. Same. I thought it was a stupid idea to add ''Wrestlemania'' to Backlash's name. It was never going to add buys for the show or sell more tickets.

Yep, think this was just from a twitter post on April 25th before Smackdown and an assumed card, but Zayn vs Reed isn't confirmed and the tag title match is on Smackdown and R/KO vs Bloodline is on the PLE instead. We might get Zayn added tomorrow, with it being another title, and I guess, another French speaker, but it wouldn't surprise me if it stays as a 5 match card. Seems to be the way in this era, although to be fair there are PLEs every 3 weeks until July.

I know it's not long after WrestleMania and there's a surge of PLEs coming up, and there's no obvious local star to build around, but this show does kind of feel a bit like an after thought. Elimination Chamber was admittedly the last stop before WM, 6 weeks prior, and pretty significant in terms of deciding WM matches, plus had a local wrestler who they are clearly massively high on, but the respective promotion and build between Backlash and Elimination Chamber feels night and day. I've heard nothing about a pre press event either, and it's getting pretty late to announce one (if they haven't already).
Still, it's on at 6pm here, and of course Tiffy is on, so I'll definitely be tuning in live and enthusiastically, and even if it isn't the most amazing card on paper, the fact it's the first PLE in France, and not in the capital (who will generally get most international events), should make for a very good live crowd (hopefully).

I wish I knew how to embed pics here and where to find it, but that image of Damien vs Jey graphic tonight. Damien looks so tired.

There's a kickoff event at 4pm local and 10am Eastern on Friday at the arena, 3 hours before Smackdown.

Oh damn, I thought she earned that shot at the latest episode of RAW. They should book it, regardless It did come off like a de facto #1 contender match without actually explicitly being as such, especially with Jax going to SmackDown. But Morgan is lined up very nicely to get the title shot sooner rather than later.

Backlash 2023 was such a celebration of professional wrestling in Puerto Rico, with appearances by Carlito and Savio Vega and a major match featuring two Puerto Rican icons.
WWE can't make Backlash 2024 feel as significant to the French audience, but then again, how could they? Puerto Rican wrestling had such an impact on American wrestling, but aside from Andre the Giant and, to a much lesser extent, The Flying Frenchman, the history of pro wrestling in France has really never been acknowledged or celebrated stateside. Part of that is because over the past two decades, any character with French allegiance has been portrayed as the villain, and part of that is also attributable to Montreal being more of a hub of Francophone wrestling than France.
I think getting some of the family members of Andre the Giant in attendance on Saturday would be a nice tribute by the WWE. But outside of that, this feels more like an international stop-over than last year's commemoration of wrestling history in Puerto Rico.
