“OJ Simpson has passed away from cancer this week. When personally questioned the cancer claimed it did not kill him, but that if it did, it was only because the cancer loved OJ very much”

I'd love to make a snarky and clever barb at his expense, but he's not even worth the effort.

Bastard really took it to his grave. At least he spent a few years of his later life behind bars. His last interview about it was pretty much him admitting it. It started out how he "hypothetically" would have done it. About half way through the story, he starts speaking in past tense like he was there.

This and the Oklahoma City bombings are probably my earliest news memories. Me and my dad discussed that to! and Waco all happened in a short amount of time to each other Way to make me feel old. My earliest memories of watching the news was the coverage of Mt. St. Helens erupting, the discovery of some of DB Cooper’s ransom money, and the 1980 presidential election.

The OJ Simpson chase happened June 17, 1994. I was 14 years old and in Reno with my family that day. My brother and I were too young to gamble and bored out of our minds. We returned to our hotel room figuring we'd just watch TV or something. That's when the chase was happening. Where were all of you that day? How many of you were even born? I was 7, homeschooled, and watching it with my dad, who worked third at the time. I didn't really understand all of the tension behind it at the time, but he was really invested in it for awhile

The chase is better if you dub Smokey and the Bandit music over it.

The Lost Confession? interview that was originally filmed for that (horrendously ill advised) If I Did It book? Yeah, that was an incredibly damning interview. EDIT: There's no way you can walk away from that interview and not think he did it. Not sure how nobody in his inner circle didn't step in to be like "Uhhh Juice, I don't think this is a good idea"

Police - "Did you drive to the murder scene to kill Ron and Nicole?"
OJ - "No sir, that's 100% false. I actually ran"

A great football player, a fun actor, and then a killer.
Is it strange to say that I'm not mourning his death, but I'm mourning the person he used to be before he killed his wife?

That's a pretty reasonable reaction. Dude was beloved, 2x Hall of Famer, Heisman trophy, multiple All Pro's, Det. Norberg. There was alot to love about OJ prior to 1994

It started out how he "hypothetically" would have done it. About half way through the story, he starts speaking in past tense like he was there. Remember, he had 2 children with Nicole and 3 others with his first wife. They get to live with the knowledge that he was essentially a confessed murderer of the mother of two of his children and another innocent person who just was in his way.

This and the Oklahoma City bombings are probably my earliest news memories. Desert Storm for me. My most vivid me let of the OJ trial was the day of the verdict. Was in jr big, we had just gotten out of lunch and classes were on hold for us all to watch. I remember that day when OJ was announced as not guilty. I was in 9th grade in high school. People listened via their Walkman radios. There were obviously no smartphones and tablets back then. My how times have changed.

Bear in mind that Ron Goldman’s dad is still alive. Can’t imagine how he is feeling today Apparently he has already commented to the effect that he could not care less that OJ died and prefers people focus on his victims. Understandable, IMO.

I was living in Northern NJ at the time. I knew about OJ being in trouble and I watched the car chase scene. (Crazy that it happened 30 years ago.) I don’t know if I was watching WNYW or WWOR but I knew they were simulcasting some other stations coverage because it said Sky 11 on the bottom on the screen. It was probably WNYW since channel 11 in LA and WNYW are both Fox O&Os.
