Can you see Cena coming back for one final run where he finally turns heel? Imagine him challenging for the WWE title against Cody Rhodes. The end of the match sees Cena screw over Cody and win his 17th world title and turning heel in the process. Cena could then go on to have a “Hollywood” heel run. A few years ago I would have said Cena will never go heel, but in this ever changing wrestling world it seems more and more a possibility as time goes on. Let’s face it while it’s awesome seeing Cena on our screens the small amount of time we get to see him,but he has been stale for the last number of returns. A heel run would remind people how big of a deal he always was. With Triple H in charge and more and more stars being able to do make a wish John Cena as a heel is a real possibility.

I don't see the point of a Cena heel turn anymore, myself. But it would be kinda hilarious if they did it now that he's getting almost all cheers when he does show up.

I can't see Cena getting #17 now. A year or two ago, maybe. But Triple H is such a big Flair guy, I doubt he books Cena, or anyone else to break that record.

By Cena's own admission his body isn't what it used to be. Maybe he can do a Rock-ish heel run some day, but I don't see it.

Cena said he's returning to do 1 final run so who knows. It would be dope to get a heel Rock and Cena team.

I’d probably just have him pick up a handful of wins before challenging Cody and losing at maybe Summerslam or something. If he decided to try the heel run, sure I guess, but I dunno how today’s crowds would be willing to play along unless he knocked it out of the park and gave himself a Toni Storm level transformation.

After everything that happened with the Rock, I can see it The difference is that The Rock’s heel turn was forced by the fans who felt he was using his newly-won off-screen clout to push aside a years-long on-screen storyline. I think John Cena has reached that level of beloved veteran who’ll never get booed, and any heel turn — especially in a similar vein as The Rock’s — would be seen right through by fans.

I think John Cena has reached that level of beloved veteran who’ll never get booed, and any heel turn — especially in a similar vein as The Rock’s — would be seen right through by fans. This makes me think.. MAYBE there’s a possibility here that Rock WANTED to come back and do a heel run. How do you turn the Rock heel when no one wants to boo him? Put out bullshit to the dirt sheets. “Rock joined the board in the condition he got the main event at Mania.” “Triple H didn’t know Rock was coming back that’s why Cody won the Rumble.” “Rock’s using his new clout to do whatever he wants.” Now everyone’s up in arms and boos the Rock when he shows up and looks like he’s pushing out super babyface Cody. What I’m trying to say is, I expect rumors about Cena playing politics to come back and take the title from Cody to start shortly before he comes back and gets a title shot while pushing out, I dunno, GUNTHER or someone the fans will equally get pissed doesn’t get his shot.

No. I think the most we'll see of Cena these days are rare appearances, MAYBE a brief feud with a heel or whatever but I don't believe we'll see heel Cena. Of course though I have been wrong about many things so it'll probably happen

It would be funny if he did undergo this massive heel turn but he was still the same jobber he’s been for the last couple years. Like the week after he turns on Cody, Johnny Gargano makes him tap in 5 minutes.

That ship has sailed imo. The time for that was like 10-12 years ago. Even people who disliked him then have come to appreciate him now. Might as well stay the course at this point

His next run is his last run, I don't see any world they turn him heel for that. It would just seem f***ing weird if they finally gave him a heel run for his last match
