I just don’t understand why you’d say it 10 times in one show in a week where the internet already compared you to wcw/tna/etc. keep it as a catchphrase sure but it would be like if byron saxton said “then. now. forever.” 10 times in a show. we’d all be ready to throw his ass in a locker. if this sticks around I will be genuinely shocked, I think it’ll stop real quick. to be fair, i’d shove byron in a locker for telling me it’s gonna rain on thursday

Is this a true statement if Anthony Ogogo wrestles there?

Is this a true statement if Anthony Ogogo wrestles there? It's where the best wrestle. Anthony Ogogo also wrestles at the same place.

I like it as a slogan. It instantly tells you what AEW is about and that they prioritise good wrestling over other things.
Like any slogan in the history of slogans though, the more you hear it the less effective it is. Once or twice a show is enough.

These regular own goals are really annoying. Anytime there's a Jay White vs Billy Gunn level match you've handed critic's ammo. Anytime another company has a 5* type match they can use this for some snarky promotion. More importantly as an alternative you're losing another point of difference from wwe. Annoying those that grew tired of corporate buzzwords years ago. At a time wwe are cutting back on buzzwords too. And no it's not overly serious in isolation but these little things add up. Especially in a week their cameramen got the zoomies.
Did you forget the slogan for the TNA KOs? "We are not divas"? That was one of the rare exceptions that worked because at the time the WWE Women division sucked.
Before you give your business a tagline you should really stop and think whether it can be instantly and effortlessly used against you as an ironic GIF label on a weekly basis. Any time anyone botches anything people are just going to have to point at this stupid slogan. Reminds of TNA's WE ARE WRESTLING. Which of course, led to a fan holding it up during "Big Fat Oily Guy" having a match... and leading to one of the most "LOLTNA" photos of all time. I don't even hate the "Where the Best Wrestle" like simply as a slogan but if you drill it into people's heads like that you are practically begging for people to respond with snark.
In a way it sounds like "WRESTLING MATTERS" in 2011 and then you saw they had less than 20 mins of wrestling(Russo special)
It's annoying yeah but let's face it, it's AEW, it'll be pushed hard for a few weeks and then forgotten about.
Perhaps its forgotten after Dynasty lol
Of all the slogans, the one this reminds me the most of is NWA! We wrestle here! circa 1989.The one AEW uses now would have worked better a few years ago when wrestling was a forbidden word in WWE.
But I dont see any raps there thus far like WrestleRock.

It's just a bit lame, like presumably you have people paid to brainstorm this and that's what you come up with? It's something a 5 year old would say.

It’s pretty lame. Even something like “AEW: Where the best in the world collide!” Is better 1) it takes a half assed shot at Punk 2) ties in with Collision and 3) still gets the point across that they have the best wrestlers in the world.
Took me like 20 seconds to come up with that. 🤷🏻♂️

And then you will see a certain part of WWE fandom claim Punk still lives rent free in AEWs brain...

Jericho was calling himself the best in the world at what he does before Punk anyway.

Ehhh, I'm still not 100% bought into the idea that Punk's stans only stan him because WWE They were stanning him long before he ever got there. (And again, this is coming from someone who has hated him ever since the stories of him going into crowds in the indies to punch fans, long before that same thing happened in WWE) That statement feels a little too much that specific flavor of tribalism in that regard.
