Cageside Seats writing that story saying the releases were “respectful” basically tells me the big video game companies need to get WWE’s PR team on the phone. The backlash against the firings the last couple of years would be dampened by having companies be able to call them “respectful”.
Like, bro, if you fire me after one of, if not the, most successful WrestleManias of all time and during Smackdown being aired, you fired me after one of, if not the, most successful WrestleManias of all time and during Smackdown being aired. You can apologize all you want or give me a pat on the back on my way out, I’m still f***ing losing my job.

Jinder wasn’t popular in India. Did he suffer from low Mumbai rates. I'm mad at myself for laughing at this.

Xyon was a very good looking guy and never had anything else IMO, but who knows, maybe he'll stick with wrestling and turn himself into something. Yeah I thought he had a great look and was pretty good when used. It’s hard to believe they couldn’t find anything for him to do. I hope he turns up somewhere else.

They uh... they really released three desi men in one go and didnt worry about the optics huh? OK. It is rather problematic that all three were released at once. That said, it became clear rather a while ago that WWE's penetration into the subcontinental market was going to have a ceiling - WWE might be popular, but gaps in fan service (live events, etc.) were long ago filled by local wrestlers impersonating WWE superstars and wrestling shows with ticket prices on which WWE could not hope to match. The international fan reach for Jinder and Veer was likewise limited; Jinder and Veer were always heels without much scope for becoming babyfaces in any sense that North American audiences would appreciate. Neither were given much shrift while in WWE, either, apart from the world title run for Jinder, which always came off as pandering, and the entire Veer experiment which took too long to launch and didn't reach the heights it needed to reach.

When I saw the headline of the thread I thought it was Quinn McKay, with whatever her WWE name is now, that got let go.
Even though I knew Xyon Quinn was the one that got let go. That's how memorable he was.

I was a bit surprised that Xia was on Main Event in a match with Nattie considering the release.

I was a bit surprised that Xia was on Main Event in a match with Nattie considering the release. They can still be booked during the 90 days of their release so it’s not unprecedented, it just never happened that often. Both Maverick and Slater were during the pandemic releases but I also think they were the only ones before Xia?

That’s fair. In that context, I’m literally sure that sort of thing’s happened plenty of times before.

Rrally sorry for anyone losing their jobs. Hope they bounce back in whatever they choose to do next.
I do however feel the weird need to point out that this is the first time I've seen anyone refering to Jinder Mahal as just "Mahal" instead of just "Jinder". It just sounds so wrong.

I think it was Anthony Greene who joked that a Level Up match that he’d taped before he was released but would air after that point was now “Loser Leaves WWE”.

I sort of think that winning the WWE championship should mean that you’ve got a job for life with the company, at least for as long as you want it. Kind of an automatic Legends deal.

I feel like Jinder might end up being NWA World Champion this year then. Which will be wild to add him to that list of guys who have won the NWA and WWE Title (Rogers, Flair, Styles, Cody)
