picked up some stuff on the way to a meeting
Stopped by a charity shop and picked up some Polish releases on DVD, Unseen Evil II (aka Alien 3000) starring Lorenzo Lamas, xChange with Stephen Baldwin and the Polish release of Highlander III.
stopped at another regular charity shop I go to and for 20p each I got Trauma (Dario Argento), Wyonna Earp Season 1, and the following both still sealed Cobra Kai Season 3 on Blu Ray and Season 4 on DVD.
I picked up some free DVDs in a community centre nothing major and worth noting
finally last charity shop The Who - Kids Are Alright and Local Hero for 20p
been incredibly lucky lately with some great cheap buys

Found this one on Facebook and figured I’d share: Gotta love the Just Go With It (2011) poster. Of all the movies to be frozen in time…

Purchases last couple of days
some for 25p each - a couple of three film sets of all b-movies (public domain), films included Earth vs The Flying Saucers and Bride of the Monster, also picked up Paths of Glory and best of all a three disc BLU RAY set that was still sealed with The Great Escape, Battle of Britain and A Bridge Too Far
A couple of stuff in a 5 for a £1 I picked up like Brewster's Millions, Waterworld, Other People's Money and Condorman.

I really need to watch Paths of Glory again! Great movie As for me I’m going to continue my Troma physical media watch. I’m about to check out some more bonus features from Jefftowne (1997) then watch Cannibal! The Musical (1993) for the first time in a long time.

My last visit to The Exchange (a chain of stores that specializes in used CDs/DVDs/video games), I picked up The Beast of Yucca Flats, the original When A Stranger Calls, Happy Birthday To Me, and the steelbook bluray of David Cronenberg's Shivers. I'm not really a steelbook kinda guy, but it was about how much I would pay for the regular bluray online, and it was in-hand so I don't have to worry about it getting lost in the mail or whatever.

That Shivers release is great. I got the Slipcase blu ray release and that is the best the film has ever looked.
I got a Troma released DVD this week. Decided I want to own and review all 16 of the released films in the WitchCraft franchise.
Was easy to find 9 thru 13 cheap. Lots of this run came out on mulitpaks from Brentwood. Already had 9 thru 16. Found still sealed the Troma release of Witchcraft IV Virgin Heart.
Which has the late Julie Strain as the lead and IIRC is the first time series regular Will Spanner, the hero lead of this series from the here until about film 13.
Is it good? Not really. But it's another film for the Troma collection and the Julie Strain collection.

So I have been looking into getting "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later" on Blu-ray. I am currently winning the auctions on the individual copies, but I didn't realize that the double-pack is in much higher demand. As for anything else, well, I am trying to track down a Blu-ray copy of the second season of "From Dusk Till Dawn: The TV Series." It seems the DVD version is much more common than the Blu-ray version. However, the third season is the hardest to find out of all of them.

Yeah the 28 Days Later / 28 Weeks Later double feature is a running joke on a Facebook group I’m on because of how many posts there are about it’s rarity. On the TV side of things for rare sets there’s also the second season of Joey (The Friend’s Spin-off). The first season you can find for dirt cheap, but when it comes to the second season? Well eBay has one like new set for just under $500.00 and one brand new set for $664.95. If you look at the sold listings no one has paid that much for a copy in months, but multiple people have paid over $200.00.

I even thought to myself, "They couldn't just get the individual copies?" It seems thay the Blu-ray for "28 Days Later" is rarer than "28 Weeks Later," which I can understand. I recall that about a year ago, I found that Rob Zombie's "Halloween II" on Blu-ray was a little more expensive than the one for the first film. I won an auction and had a decent deal for it. What's weird is that the Canadian Blu-ray of the theatrical versions is cheaper and in high demand. I bought that one, too, by the way.

shows how great my finds have been lately that today's carboot sale (flea market) haul felt relatively disappointing
best buys of the day was Eli Roth's Thanksgiving and the complete series of 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo for 50p each.
have ordered some used stuff online last few days but will mention them once they arrive.

I've been collecting DVDs pretty much since the format debuted, I have thousands of the things. I got my bluray player about a year and a half ago, and my collection of those is significantly smaller. So I'm kinda thinking of being a little more particular about that collection, making sure to get things that I really think are top notch quality films.
For my bluray collection, on eBay last night I ordered THE SWIMMER (1968) and WESTWORLD (1973), and today at Wal-Mart I picked up MADAME WEB (2024).

All of the original Dark shadows on dvd, tons of old silent films and laurel and hardy and buster keaton on dvd and blu ray etc etc. Streaming is ok but i dont trust it not to remove stuff. My fairly large collection has come in handy. Few years back good friend lost her job and had to cut costs. So bye bye cable and internet. Between my large TV show on DVD collection and the local library she had plenty to watch for the 9 months it took her to land back on her feet. And locally DVDs are cheap used. Like normally a pawn shop wants a buck for a dvd 2 bucks for a blu ray. Then season sets are 2 bucks for DVD,unless it is a huge set of like the shows entire run. And 4 bucks for a season of a show on Blu Ray. Over about a year she managed to get every season of 24 on DVD and never paid more than 5 bucks for any season. And right now my father is fixing up a large camper to move to the coast and make his fishing camp. Cable is expensive so is Satellite. He doesn;t watch sports. His father's day present is a Blu ray player for his camp's living room and close to 100 movies on dvd/blu ray and a few complete tv show runs on DVD. Almost all the discs I got used cheap at various places. Like the Mill Creek set of Rockford files. Found that used at a junkstore for 2 bucks. Or Every season of Wild Wild West show on DVD. Those were a buck each at the Pawn shop. Keep seeing people i know that sold off most of their DVDS 6 years ago "Cause why do I need them I can stream everything cheap". Now seeing how stuff gets cycled off streaming and rebuying stuff they sold for a buck and paying 20 bucks. "Yea wasn't bright idea to sell that Airheads Blu Ray for 2 bucks huh Donnie?"

Wasnt until summer 99 I had a store locally that rented DVDs. Blu Ray I was a tiny bit late on. I thought HD DVD would be the format to win that war. So 2 years after it debuted I got my first Blu ray player. As for 4k.... replaced the living room TV middle of last year with a 65 inch 4k. Just ordered a 4k player for that tv. And I own a handful of 4k UHDs. Most of which I got cheap at the Pawn shop cause the owner thinks anything in a black case is a DVD. I dont see myself rebuying soome movies for the 3rd,4th or 5th time on a new format. Of course there is stuff like Twin Peaks Fire Walk with me hits 4k and I will get that. Making it the 5th format I have owned that movie on.

Which is exactly why I still have all my DVDs, even DVD-R's of stuff that never made it past VHS. Because what happens if I wanna watch something that I heard was on Peacock or HBO Max or whatever other streaming service, but oh no, they lost the rights to it and it's nowhere to be found anywhere else? Or what happens if my Internet connection shits itself for a few days and I can't stream anything?
