Some would say why didnt TK say this on NFL network....
No. We are _NOT_ going to start another endless series of "BuT wHy? " posts again. Yeah who cares, it’s ultimately not a big deal and it’s already blown over

"And I hope everyone keeps in mind that 9/11 is on a Wednesday this year, because every time AEW Dynamite airs it's like flying a plane into Titan Tower" I am so late to this, I am crying with laughter on the bus home from work

I mean, I think it's pretty simple: he knows WWE's done a good job of deflecting/avoiding/whatever else you want to call it questions and peeks into the whole lawsuit situation, so he wanted to bring it up with the Weinstein comments and get people to go "oh, right, almost forgot about that..." The stuff both companies use to go after one another are a lot more measured than people think; most of this shit is a pretty thoroughly calculated media strategy. Doesn't mean we all have to like it or that said strategy is always effective or right or whatever, but 99% of this shit since this media war started isn't at all offhand or said without forethought right now, and that includes everything from how Punk's interview was presented Mania weekend to Khan making the Weinstein reference.

You don’t think that was Punk just being Punk and talking out of his ass? I guess it being Helwani makes it a little more likely there was forethought put into it.

TK's dad is only the second good father shown in AEW television, the first being of course Christian Cage.

You don’t think that was Punk just being Punk and talking out of his ass? I guess it being Helwani makes it a little more likely there was forethought put into it. The word around September and October was that Punk was shopping around his tell-all to podcasters and looking for a home for his story. That vanished and so did any sign he was going to open his mouth presumably right around when talks with WWE began. He then sat on the things he was getting ready to say for almost half a year, and only finally shot his shot when he was on the podcast of a journalist strongly associated with WWE on a business level. It does seem like a few too many contrivances to read as a Punk solo.
