Like you prefer another talking segment to a good wrestling match? Even though I don’t think Swerve’s presentation is in any real danger right now, yes.

There’s just no stopping it smh, they can shoot someone on live tv and this bullshit will still happen. On next week’s show: Tony - Jack Perry is a dead man walking! Because when Jack ‘Jungle Boy’ Perry meets Tony ‘9 millimeter’ Khan, I’m gonna blow his sorry ass straight to hell!

Hot take; hearing the context of the NBA playoffs being followed by Collision, holding off Swerve's first promo until then is exceedingly smart. With that younger demo watching anyway, you open that show with Swerve talking and recap the match on Dynamite? Makes all the sense in the world from a marketing perspective, especially when regardless of what you do right now, you're losing to Sports and it's never going to change.

Agree completely about Swerve and I said it in the thread at the time. He's the world champion, he should open the show in his first show as champion.
I also think the world champion should always main event but I accept things don't really work like that anymore.

I'm kinda glad we didn't get a Swerve promo because the audio shit the bed, I would rather a good match than being unable to hear what is being said. Like I don't even know what was said in the Rosa promo like I got frustrated to the point I stopped watching

Wrestling Fandom: Can't believe AEW is dying, what a shitty number WBD: Holy shit what an amazing number, the audio sounded like it was in a fishbowl because of us and the live coast to coast killed the west coast numbers, good job AEW, as always!

On the plus side, at least the rating chatter stopped.

I have no idea what I’m talking about but.. You’d almost have to think that at the end of the day, as long as AEW’s numbers are “good” (ie: not like, lowest ranked show for the night) that everything will be ok. I think we get transfixed on wanting to see arbitrary numbers as a result of scars from WCW/TNA’s missteps and comparing it to the only competition in WWE. I don’t really care if AEW gets 5 million viewers or 50k. As long as the show stays on a major network, and AEW can exist and thrive that’s all I care about. I don’t even get the chance to watch it much anymore, but having them around is so so important to the landscape of wrestling.

Yeah, like, Ring of Honor was my favorite wrestling and my favorite thing when it was watched by so, so, so many fewer people than AEW is right now. It comes down to what one actually wants out of these numbers - assurance that your favorite thing will survive? Validation that it's popular? The former is not automatically foretold by any given week's numbers, and the latter is foolish to chase in my view.

Some of us, including me, just wanted him to be presented as a big deal. He’s the World Champion for god sakes, He should of had his in-ring promo on Dynamite than have his match with whomever on Collision. It felt he had just won the FTW title the way he was presented compared to the rest of the show. Honestly, he should of had the main event segment spot. Someone on his caliber needed to at least have the whole show centered around him and his World Title win He should of given some mic time this week since this is the first time we've seen him since winning the title, An historic title win at that. This is like if Cody came out on Raw the Monday after Wrestlemania 40,Wrestled Shinsuke Nakamura and that was it, lol. This is not a huge deal, but I would of loved to hear from him this past Wednesday. Well he's getting his promo on Collision live to open the show after an NBA lead in so... yeah this wasn't a huge deal lol

Wrestling fans also have this weird fixation on a million as the benchmark for what a “good rating” is when, honestly, the difference between “1 million” and 750,000 live viewers is probably something like 30 Nielsen viewers so it’s incredibly arbitrary.

Did you watch either show? He neither opened nor closed the first Dynamite of his reign, which is the point people are making

Why waste the freshest your crowd's going to be on storytime with Swerve? It's not like they're not going to pop when the dude comes out regardless. I dunno.
