By scraping the idea, I'm sick of takeovers in companies. You must've hated black and gold NXT PPVs, then!

The Elite banned Stokely from ringside during Willow's match. That's another enemy that they have created!

This feels like one of those things that needs Cody and / Punk and neither is with the company anymore.
I could see it being the old guard of AEW vs. some of the more recent signings with a few friends of each side thrown in.

This actually would have been a cooler angle of Cody were still around, but eh...here we are.
I'd be disappointed if this doesn't end in a huge Blood and Guts cluster, though the thing that could be weird is....like....does anybody else find it weird The Executive Elite, the heels, are basically not only AEW born but are guys that are literally synonymous with the name AEW? I guess the only way you could have these guys still be heel is by them basically beating the breaks off AEW guys people like.
You have to have Eddie, Darby, and if MJF were healthy he has to be included too, against The Executive Elite. The only guy they have with them that isn't AEW branded is Okada and hey, maybe you can use Rated R Adam as a counterpart to that but....man, this really would be the time for Orange to take up arms against them. There's no reason why Swerve shouldn't be involved given this is the biggest story on the program...that said....
I'm going to put out a hot take:
I do NOT want FTR involved in this angle.
I know they probably are given they've been scuffling with The Bucks again. I know the multi-man cluster they'd get involved in would still be nifty, but ****s alive am I tired of FTR vs. The Bucks in any form. If anything this actually would be the time to elevate another tag team. Why couldn't Top Flight benefit being the tag team of Team AEW? People harp on The Acclaimed, but I'd take The Acclaimed stepping up. This is even looking past the fact I don't consider FTR to be an "AEW team."

I take it you didn’t see them beatdown Omega moments after he just told a scary story of how doctors told him his stomach was now a ticking time bomb?

Then why are you acting like they need to start beating down beloved characters..? They literally just gave a pretty gnarly beatdown of a guy who just told the world the wrong blow to his stomach could end him.

I know, right? That beatdown was pretty crazy, but I didn't think Kenny being dropped took away from my general concern.
I still do think for this to work pretty much everybody opposing The Executive Elite has to be AEW guys. I'd still like it if they moved Orange and Swerve in to this and a tag team that isn't FTR.

8-Man Tag.
The ELITE v. Omega, Ibushi, Hangman, and this man....
Now we just gotta figure out who would play him.

8-Man Tag. The ELITE v. Omega, Ibushi, Hangman, and this man.... Now we just gotta figure out who would play him. My brain proceeded to go: Question: Who's a young guy with tons of athleticism and very little in the way of gimmick? Answer: Lee Johnson. Tangent: Lee Johnson wrestles a lot like El Generico. New Dream Booking: Lee Johnson gets a mask and becomes The Generic Tiger Wrestler.

Said it in another thread, but my fantasy booking on this is that phase one of this story ends with a group of "non-day one, but still invested in AEW" types (Copeland, FTR, etc.) uniting to take down the Elite, but ultimately failing; maybe the big fight ends with the return of Hangman, who ends up siding with the Bucks as their new "chosen champion" they'll throw at Swerve, since Okada will likely still be Continental Champ at that point.
This sets the stage for the big heroes of the story to be those "day one" types, or at least babyfaces who are now associated with AEW as the place where they broke through: Swerve tops the list, but a healthy Darby could be involved, maybe Eddie, Daniel Garcia, guys like that.
Maybe in between you do something with the BCC, but Elite vs. BCC was a feud not all that long ago, so I'd get not retreading that ground despite the change in who's part of the Elite.

In the meantime, you could set up a commissioner character to counteract the Elite's abuse of power so it doesn't turn into AEW's version of the Authority.

Eddie is going to cost Team AEW the match like he did cost BCC 2 years ago because thats what happened the last time Danielson and Eddie teamed up in an Anarchy in the Arena match
