The ppv is being held within walking distance of some of the most deprived communities in Europe. But Nick Khan will make a good profit and he's short of money no doubt.
I think WWE running a show in a wrestling hot area yet charging the locals out of attending is worthy of criticism be it Europe, India or some place in the US tbh.

Crazy prices during a cost of living crisis. £300 = 375.88 USD/ 348.91 euros £2000 = 2,505 usd/2,322.13 euros They'll do something, the MSM is on the case. This is when they usually respond, see: the difference between Benoit and Snuka. Extreme case, yes, but shows how WWE acts when they're under MSM scrutiny, or at least sponsors. (Also it was a different kind of MSM in 1983, yes...) And something something No More Vince something something So It Has To Be Better something.

Honestly, having already been to a Wrestlemania... the only live event I really want to go to is the Royal Rumble. I read some rumors it might come to Milwaukee. If that happens, that might be the last live event I actually try to go to.

Maybe it didn't get a BBC report online but people absolutely complained because the insane cost of live events has been a consistent, regular pain point people have spent years complaining about, accusing Ticketmaster of deeply unethical shit, and slamming artists for creating a perception that only their affluent fans actually matter to them. People super complained.

People super complained. Yeah, I absolutely remember seeing people talking about it. Especially after WWE called it the "highest grossing arena show in WWE history" which a) that's a weird thing to brag about to anyone but shareholders, I just can't imagine being a viewer and giving a shit and b) makes it more obvious you did price gouge.

Third row seats at WrestleMania this year were about $5,000 and btw it's a two-night event now. Suck it, Scottland. No we wont. Enjoy the spectacle of a half empty arena. And spell my country right. As of 5 days ago, they already sold 90% of the tickets

Suck it, Scottland. Wrestlemania with 40 years of history behind it and it being the big prestigious ppv that the company itself books it's entire year around verses a ppv in it's second year that the company could easily stop doing on a whim? might as well compare the Fifa world cup final and a local sunday league cup final.

This is absolutely ridiculous. My Wrestlemania 30 seats that were about ten rows off the floor were $350. I know prices have gone up drastically in the last ten years, but over an 800% increase for a B-tier (being very generous) PPV is lunacy.
Spinning it to fans as "being part of the largest gate" is kind of sickening.

Also damn the willingness some people have to actually go "Ha ha you suck, weak whiny Scottish fans who are too poor to afford to see a wrestling show" out loud instead of just thinking the shitty grimy shit in their head is wild. Stunningly rancid shit people feel way too comfortable saying.

It’s a very realistic possibility that I, living in Australia, may be entirely priced out of ever attending another WWE show (the only one I’ve ever been to was when NXT toured here in 2016). It sucks, but I can’t do much about it unless I just, you know, not eat or pay rent for a week.

Guess I won’t be going to any shows any time soon, if these are the going rates. Luckily have been to a ton before prices skyrocketed in recent years, but that’s tough for fans that haven’t had the opportunity.

I think it's indicative of an insularity, a failure to comprehend or acknowledge that $375 and the sterling equivalent to $375 are two very different things. The median wage in the UK and much of the rest of Europe is significantly lower - and particularly in parts of Scotland - than in the States, and as people have said, Glasgow has pockets of extreme poverty by western standards. It's a really silly comparison people are making.

I'm pretty sure my ticket to WrestleMania 13 was less than $20.

There’s a cost of living crisis essentially worldwide. If we want them to lower the prices then we need to stop going to the shows. As infrequently as the WWE runs Scotland I think that it’s probably worth the cost if you’re a huge fan. I do feel bad for the fans that legit can’t afford to spare that extra cash to see the show though.

I looked up the cheapest single ticket for the below in Glasgow, combined it's less than the cheapest WWE ticket.
Billie Elish - £111 Foo Fighters - £84 Janet Jackson - £70 Rangers vs Dundee - £30
Obviously not quite like for like, and some of these are in bigger stadiums but still works for comparison.

WWE is TRENDING and SO RUNAWAY HOT RIGHT NOW that it's got more clout than Billie Eilish and Foo Fighters combined, easy, its MOMENTUM CAN'T BE STOPPED this is a very organic pricing structure.

The PPV prices are crazy, but the tickets for Smackdown the night before have a more reasonable get-in price right now (around 150). Still more than I’d pay, though.
