Didn't Moxley/Ambrose also say that one of his,if not the, final straws was that they wanted him to say something about Roman and cancer that he still refuses to say what it was exactly?

It was Roman having to deal with his promos being influenced by a senile guy in his 70s who’s at least a decade behind in pop culture.

I’d love to have seen VKM’s real-time reaction to Roman’s delivery of the line - was he happy with it? Did he think the sour reaction to it was because of Roman’s delivery rather than it unironically being a line outta ‘66 Batman?
The fact this was separate to ´tater tots’ is baffling, but also hilarious that they were like ‘this’ll get’em back’

i actually love that expression but it works for cartoon characters, not a badass face of an entire wrestling promotion, why Roman would actually say this knowing how silly it sounds is a mystery

Probably a lame-ass attempt to give Roman a Rock-like catchphrase.

It never caught on. Roman immediately lamp-shaded it by breaking the 4th wall and saying, "That was hard to say".
It's a line popularized by a cartoon cat, Roman knew his character was the Big Dog, and the Big Dog would not steal a catch phrase from a cat.

Becausr dammit pal Looney Tunes are over! Looney Tunes are awesome, but it's not something you try to crowbar into a wrestling context like this. I dunno, if Roman had dropped an anvil on someone's head, it might have gotten over.

Looney Tunes are awesome, but it's not something you try to crowbar into a wrestling context like this. The Rock used Sufferin' succotash in a promo he cut on Booker T, but that dude could make almost anything work. Hell, the Roman of today could probably make it work

I wonder who wrote Roman's the guy promo:
I'm not a bad guy. I'm not a good guy. I'm THE guy.
Beacuase I think that's a damn good promo.

I feel like the answer to every WWE thread that questions something that pisses people off or makes no sense is always Vince.

It never caught on. Roman immediately lamp-shaded it by breaking the 4th wall and saying, "That was hard to say". I don't think that's what he was doing. I think the point of that part of the promo was that it hurt him to say something so cruel to his friend. Because it was such a great line. However... This is one of the best sentences I've ever read on this forum.

Probably a lame-ass attempt to give Roman a Rock-like catchphrase. The biggest problem with babyface Roman, IMO, was they couldn't decide if they wanted him to be like Stone Cold, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, or John Cena so they made him all four and it was just a mess. It wasn't until he came back from beating leukemia that they finally started doing things right, but by then the damage had already been done and it was time for a change.
