Was looking at that Comedy Cliche list and I started to think about comedians like Michael Ian Black and Sarah Silverman, who just do there stuff deadpan and dont really show no emotion.
Do yall like comedians to be like that or do you like them to laugh with the audience kinda?
IMO, deadpan can be funny but I like it when the comedian laughs a little bit, you wanna think that everyones having fun, even the comedian...

Depends. A comedian with a dry sense of humour, and thus, not laughing/showing emotion can be great.

If it is someone who can crack jokes like Alan Rickman, yet keep the monotone, emotionless expression he has sometimes, then yes, it can be funny.

Steven Wright is funny, but the act does get old quick.

depends on whos doing it. Bob Newhart was FAMOUS for his dedpan delivery. As is wright. they do it well. but i'd hate for someone like richard jeni (RIP) or seinfeld to try it. they would NOT do it well

What about when Bill Engvall says something funny, then laughs at it, then stops really quickly?
I love that

Norm Macdonald is the king of all kings. The man can say anything and it'll be hilarious just because of his dry delivery.

Steven Wright is great, and Mitch Hedberg was kinda like a manic Steven Wright, not really deadpan, but he was like a stoned little guy who had these hilarious observations and giggled at his jokes and was shy-and VERY funny IMO

Jimmy Carr is a bit like that, he's an irritating prick with his stupid little voice. Paul Merton is dope though.

I'll also throw Rich Hall's name into the fray too. Thank you for re-reminding me about the man. Even when the guy uses props, it's the fact that he can do them without an ounce of emotion, yet it's hysterical.

It's just stating an opposing opinion.

Unless you're agreeing with my opinion, in which case no proof is necessary.. just go ' Slim said---' and everyone else will recognize the obvious fact they're about to hear.
I dug the heck outta Mitch Hedberg cuz his stuff was so out there. Wright to a lesser degree, but my favorite version of him was hosting KBILLY's Super Sounds o' the Seventies
