I like the old Doctor Who with Tom Baker, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy.

I loved the Tom Baker Dr. Who shows, right down to the cheesy special effects. I keep hopin that the Canadian cable sci-fi channel Space would start running them.
I hear that the new Dr. Who seriel is outstanding... anyone seen it? I saw the DVD set for Season 2 (I think) at Walmart for $90 (CDN)... I'd like to buy it but that's a little too much for me.

The New series (3) just finished here in England and I thought it was awesome.
Especially the last 4 episodes which have been truly amazing.
'Blink' - The weeping angels episode is very clever and probably left lots of kids terrified of statues.
Then the final big three parter which featured the return of ... ;D
Potential Spoiler
*The Master*

Old school WHO is great.
The new WHO has been good so far. Maybe too much inspired by X-FILES "Monster of the Hour" episodes (what am I kidding? that was old school WHO too) but hey, I've enjoyed it.
Anyway, Series 1 finale works. Its set up with the army of Daleks, and Who telling them that he'll kick their ass.....so unexpected, and groovy. Not the biggest fan of the Deus Ex Machinas "correction" bringing people back to life, but it doesn't annoy me enough to complain.
Series 2 was epic, and I liked it. No "corrections," but consequences that stick. Plus, Cybermen/Daleks going to war. I mean, whast not to like?

I've liked almost all incarnations of this series, except the made for TV movie that Fox did. I mean, Eric Roberts as The Master? What kind of crap is that?

Well yeah....besides, if anyone would be the big bad evil "Master" of the universe, it would be the one that tormented Hollywood at the time. Julia.

I just watched an Epp of DR who confidential online and I have to agree with David Tennant. The only Scary scene from the series is the clown from Deadly Assassin

At first I thought this was about the guy that played guitar in Bad Brains...
... then I remembered that he's Dr. Know, not Dr. Who.

Yeah I'm digging the new doctor who
I've never seen the old ones and based on clips I've seen of them I have no desire to to be honest
The only sort of problem I have with the new doctor who is that they use that sonic screwdriver thingy too much for my tastes
Also John Simm & David Tenant were great the past few episodes

I only know the new series, but after series 3 ended, I really have to say that my favourite combination is Smith&Jones. Although the finale did suck a little, it did establish Martha as a real trooper and as someone who can kick way more ass than Rose was able to sans God-like powers.
And John Simm was brilliant, especially in the opening musical number in Last of the Timelords ;D

I just started watching actually. I've been reading up on Doctor Who's history, and I'm a big fan of the tenth Doctor(David Tennant). Great stuff.

If DW is to survive it has to change after the next series
It's gotten worse as they went on Series 3 only had about 5 great episodes, the rest were so painful i even found "Timelash" & "Twin Dilemma" far more enjoyable.
Plus i think Tennant is the worst Doctor

Mcoy is far better than Tennant (Although his first season didn't do him any favours) Ghost Light, Fenric, Survival & Greatest show prove that

Plus i think Tennant is the worst Doctor Let's see Blink was excellent, the two parter where the doctor goes human and fights the family of blood was solid, the one in the spaceship with the sun was fun, the three episodes involving the master where very entertaining. (So that's 6) The two parter Dalek one was ok but not brilliant, the 1930s just feels wrong for daleks. The New Earth one with the Makra was quite enjoyable I thought. The intro to Martha was also ok. I didn't like the one with the rejuvenation chamber with the bloke who turns into a hybrid chimera monster. (Lazarus) I missed the Shakespeare one. Overall good Doctor Who viewing, especially if compared with some of the Eccleston episodes.
