I was playing MK: Armageddon today with my dad of all people, and he asked me if I still owned NFL Blitz (another game I love to school him in and also one of the ONLY sports games I can play), and it occured to me, oh yeah, those games are made by the same company...then...I thought...
DUDE, what if they made a football game where you could like, do fatalities and stuff? Not unlike Mutant League I guess, but like, now!
Like, the sidelines could be pits of acid or spikes or something, and you could attack the other team during a touchdown celebration and stuff. And rip off more than just the person's helmet.
I dunno...just an idea.

I would definitely play it.

Blitz the League was kind of close. Where you could mean to injure people and you'd watch the legs or arms snap in half or the skulls crack in slow-mo X-Ray.

But that game also took a year to load on PS2 I literally had enough time to get up, make a sammich, grab a soda, put the sammich stuff back up, go back into the living room, and it STILL wasn't quite done yet. Also the AI made me want to cry. It was a sweet idea though. I enjoyed what of it I had the patience to play.

It'd be all the better if they somehow actually got the NFL license for the game. Not better, just funny I guess.

Did the AI make you want to cry from being hard or easy? Because I can tell you a way to make it supper easy. Do those slow-mo passes to a receiever and run a wacky-all-over-the-place route then as the ball is coming to the spot run to your spot and catch it. Pretty easy large yardage or touchdowns. Try to make it a good reciever and QB though. I hope if and when they make a sequel they build on it instead of resting on what they have. It was a great start to build a foundation with, but I don't want it to end there.

The only reason they could take Blitz as far as they did (the over-the-top characters, the adult storylines, drug use, violent injuries, etc) is because they did loose the NFL liceanse. They wanted to do it a long time ago, but the NFL wouldn't allow with their players and names attached.

I could never EVER get past the playoffs, like, I'd be doing good, but all of a sudden by some act of God or something, the other team would MIRACULOUSLY come back and spank me at the last moment. It was soooo frustrating.

There is a secret cut scene if you do things right of getting revenge on LTs character before half time.

Yeah Blitz's load times on the PS2 were insane.
And what frustrated me was, not so much it being hard as when I was playing it, me nor the CPU could play defense like at all, so whoever had the ball last was gonna win no matter what.

Heh, I found a badass play that got me a sack like 75% of the time, an imidiate tackle or INT about 15% of the time and them actually doing something good the other 10%.

my guys played the " just stand there while the user controlled player has chase the ball carrier desperately" defense. Yeah, it was pretty much the same for me until I found out about that one play I'm talking about. Can't remember it for the life of me now. My LB always tore that QB up though. I'd usually injure EVERY QB, and sometimes the backup with that play.
