I get home from work, I'm eating my tasty seven layer burrito and soft tacos with a Pepsi from the 'Bell and turn on the tv and lo and behold Tombstone is on TNT with about thirty minutes to spare.
Now, I've owned this film since about 1995, and have seen it dozens of times, yet I still felt compelled to watch the remainder of the flick and did so while eating my tacos and drinking down the choice of a new generation.
What is it about this movie that I love it so much I'll watch it even though I already own it? I dunno, but whatever it is it's there. In short, I love this flick, Russell, Kilmer, Sam Elliot, Delaney, Biehn etc etc etc. I dig the heck out of it.
Am I alone in my love for this great Western moving picture?

I think the main answer can be summed up in two words: Val Kilmer. He makes that picture fantastic. ;D
And I watch Batman Begins every single time it's on despite owning it, and I watch Shawshank every time even though I've seen it about 100 times. Some movies just have fantastic replay value.

I wouldn't say great, but in the last 17 years, its one of only 3 Hollywood westerns I've actually liked (others being UNFORGIVEN & Costner's OPEN RANGE). Maybe why TOMBSTONE works as well is because of the chemistry. When Val Kilmer isn't an ass****, he can act his ass off. Kurt Russell is nautral awesomeness, so check. But its the whole cast which itself is badass. Biehn, Powers C*** Sucker Boothe, Hayden Church, you name it. Whats funny is, its an open secret that basically Kurt Russell directed the film after the original helmer Kevin Jarre got canned. George Cosmatos came in as a jobber, and he did basically Russell told him. TOMBSTONE (1994) - ***1/2

Val Kilmer kicked ass in almost everything he did.
Then he got fat.
The End.
Tombstone rules. "I'll be your huckleberry."

Wait, wasn't he in one of them Batman movies? yeah THE WORST ONE Batman & Robin>Batman Forever What the f***? That was a LOT better than B&R. B&R was an atrocity, BF just sucked in parts. Ok, a lot of parts...
