Wow, and we know how those athlete-hosted SNL episodes work out, yeah?

Every athlete hosted episode of SNL had at least ONE skit that managed to entertain.
Michael Jordan -- "Stuart Smiley" and "Da' Bulls" Joe Montana -- "Inner Thoughts" Tom Brady -- "Sexual Harrassment in the Workplace" Peyton Manning -- "United Way"
I'll give them only that much credit, cause the rest of the episodes were forgettable.

That said, of any loosely called "athlete" to have hosted SNL fine without being a bust, was The Rock. Only "athlete" invited back.

On the plus though, maybe they'll be a hot musical guest the day Lebron's on. (ALA Carrie Underwood on Peyton Manning's)

I like Lebron. To me, he's funny. (his commercials anyway) He was beyond stiff hosting the ESPYs but maybe he'll have more success with the likes of sketch comedy.

Peyton Manning's United Way sketch was HILARIOUS! I might just break my SNL boycott for this one.

Guys, the Tom Brady and Peyton Manning episodes were outstanding. Get over yourselves.
Oh and one person deciding not to watch isn't a "boycott."

Charles Barkley's monologue where he goes one-on-one against Barney was also great. Everything else from that episode was pretty forgettable, though. And as much as I hate to say it, I remember Derek Jeter's show being pretty decent. But if LeBron's performance on SNL is anything like what it was at the ESPYs, it'll be a very forgettable show. Maybe if he had a better cast surrounding him and better writers on the show, it could be decent. But more than likely it'll be a snoozer.

What about the Stuart Smalley daily affirmation with anonymous NBA superstars Charles B. and Mugsy B? That to me was hysterical.

I like the current cast. Just thought I'd share that. Andy Samberg is hilarious.

Wow, I forgot Barkley hosted, and didn't even know Jeter did once. Now that I recall, Deion Sanders was also host one time....and THAT was the worst host job by an athlete in SNL history, IMO.
