I tried to make Transformers the first movie I had gone to the Theatre to see in at least a year, and it was sold out. I saw Evan Almighty instead. I thought it was a good movie, but there wasn't nearly enough transforming.

Getting back to the toys, I don't know about you, but I've not been able to find Optimus, Megatron or Bumblebee anywhere!! I have Jazz, Barricade, Ironhide, Blackout and Starscream, and the latter three were quite difficult to find.
I keep seeing Ratchet, Brawl and Bonecrusher everywhere, but I don't plan on buying them yet.

well, if it makes you all feel better:
the origenal script had that Dew Bot and the Xbox bot much earlier in the movie, with a bigger role and... well... pretty much doing Frenzy's jobs, meaning we'd be seeing them alot more frequently.

He looks pretty cool, but with the big boys I am skeptical. They are some of the best TF toys not named Alternators/Binaltech though, I gotta give them that.

At least Ironhide and Ratchet's figures have heads, which is more than i can say about their G1 versions.

Beast Wars TV series > this film.
I don't know that I've not seen it yet. But the Beast Wars TV series was the S**T. And I still have some of the toys. They were awesome.

haha, no no, no Beast Wars argument... jed and I remember that well.
It was a good show, for sure, and had some rad toys. But the old school is just, special. And the movie figures are rad, as is the movie. I got about what I expected.

Nothing will ever reach the awesome levels of Beast Wars. Heck, even Machines gets a bad rap, but not nearly as bad as most make it out to be. Faceless, if everyone took away the nostalgia factor of the G-1 crap (which it was), you'd come to the conclusion that Beast Wars is the greatest thing to ever be connected with the Transformers universe. Oh, and to say something about the toys, went to Wal-Mart today and gee whiz, ALL they had were Jazz. I'm not Megatron so I don't want one, or two, of this guy. Stupid store.

Dude, I love beast Wars, I do. But it isn't just nostalgia, sure the old shows don't hold up well. But the overall feel of it remains. Plus Optimus was more a father to me than my own dad ever was.

It was real cool. I thought it was a good movie. So sick of people calling it "Michael Bays" movie. Yeah I know the directors can play a big part in the final movie, but the writers are the main thing. If its anyone movies, its theirs...

Just saw this last night and i thought it was ....
Brilliant, lots of loud noise, cheezy comedy and robots kicking the ever loving crap out of each other and the surroundings. It's what big blockbusters are all about. Best action film of the year so far.
Plus Starscream ruled!

Total f***ING Garbage is what I thought, and I'm not trying to get heats with the board either. The protagonist sucked hard and his sidekick/love interest was way too hot and detracted from the movie. No woman like that WOULD EVER get into some nerds car, I can suspend disbelief in giant robots but no way can I suspend disbelief that that hot of a chick would even give that scrub the time of day.
Anyways on a critics standpoint, there was too much detail in the TFs and all it ended up doing is blurring all the action sequences.

Felix, the first band Posehn mentions in his song is Maiden, as in Iron Maiden
