Metallica in Dublin... 2003 I think... Totally blew me away. I had such an adrenaline rush I didn't eat a thing all day! Aslan just up the road from me a few weeks ago was also fantastic!

Mine was Nick Cave and the Mini Seeds at the Nottingham Royal Centre. Backed only by his own piano, Warren Ellis on violin, a drummer and a bassist, plus all four contributing vocals, he made more noise than I've ever heard a band make, and with no guitar involved. He was also funny as hell ("How do I want you to play it? Sad as f***, of course.") and did totally insane versions of my favourite songs that I wish I could have recordings of.

1992. I was 15 and saw Metallica and Guns N' Roses with Faith No More opening. This was at Foxboro Stadium and one of the first shows back after James Hetfield's pyro accident. Metallica had an extra guitarist (who's name escapes me at the moment) playing Hetfield's parts because his arms were still all bandaged.
Honorable mention goes to the bizarre double bill of Motley Crue and Megadeth in 2000. Anthrax was also supoosed to be on that show but cancelled.

Korn London Arena Sept 2002 The Prodigy Birmingham NIA Nov 2005 Foo Fighters (with QOTSA & Motorhead!) Hyde Park June 2006
At a stretch i'll go with Prodigy, just because i could dance like a maniac and nobody thought i looked like an idiot.

I performed a few gigs with some kids when I was a sophomore in high school. One guitarist, one bassist, a drummer, and me on vocals. All cover songs, but we still got booked for a few parties, school functions, and city events. Our best show was at the opening for a Teen Center downtown. We got our names and pictures in the paper for that one. We had a decent set of covers: Black Sabbath's Paranoid Van Halen's Ain't Talking 'Bout Love and Running With The Devil (excellently performed in a church) Collective Soul's December Presidents of the USA's Lump Aerosmith's Walk This Way Nirvana's About a Girl The Police's Message in a Bottle and Synchronicty II (Ended up being the Guitar Hero Special) Dire Straits' So Far Away Eric Clapton's - Change the World
Damn those days were fun

Babyshambles @ibiza Rocks, Bar M, San Antonio Ibiza Summer 2005 Goddamn yeah ...I think I just died a little inside. Oh, and I have to add a third mention to Bloodhound Gang, who are an amazing live band and a close second after Nick Cave. Nick Cave was the better gig, but Bloodhound Gang was a ridiculous amount of fun.

BTW, did you pick up a cd of that night's show? That was a good gimmick Kiss had going on that tour. I love the copy I have of the Kiss show in KC. My favorite show? Probably front row off center for Kiss on their 2000 uhem... "farewell Tour." That or in 1998, an Everclear show, where they let me up on stage. While lead singer Art Alexakis was dancing with girls, I was on the mic doing my best Stone Cold impersonation and doing nWo pantamine antics.

While lead singer Art Alexakis was dancing with girls, I was on the mic doing my best Stone Cold impersonation and doing nWo pantamine antics. it didnt cost me a dime,a very dear friend of mine in the airforce bought my ticket in exchange for autographs from them and a copy of the show on cd. i believe she was reimbursed cuz it was a "work expense". yeah i got a copy, great condition and it was only $25 and thats a steal, but i almost had to hand out asian spikes cuz the moron ripped my ticket when i paid for it before hand and told me thats how it goes. so when i come to get it after the show, the lady goes "uhh........its already been ripped,u cant have a copy" i gave her a muderous look then pointed at the manager.......i got my copy 3 seconds later. ;D dude you're lucky. you actually got to say "what?" to a crowd of people? freakin sweet. you saw kiss in summer 2004,right? i wish i coulda got on stage. i was the needle in the haystack at that concert if u know what i mean

I also saw Kiss from the 10th row at the Worcester Centrum in Worcester, Mass. in 1996.
Ace Frehley blew up a sotlight when he shot the firework out of his guitar.

I went to see Bloodhoung Gang. Evil Jared spewed all over the Stage after downing a full bottle of Jagermeister. That was awesome. I went to see them and Jared did the same thing. Then my mate saw them in Manchester and he did it again. He must do it every night...the crazy smurfer. On another note, they were surprisingly good when I saw them. And definately the funniest gig I've ever been to. And no one can deny that 'Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo' is an absolute tune...

Check my sig- Daft Punk in Hyde Park this summer. Just amazing. Anyone who says that electronic music can't achieve the soul and life-affirming power of guitar-based music just needs to see that gig. 20, 000 (conservative estimate) people leaping around like total mentalists for hours. Supported by LCD Soundsystem, CSS, Calvin Harris, Simian Mobile Disco. Just ridiculous...
Special mention to the Beastie Boys 'in the round'. 3 or so hours of rump-shaking goodness...

I have two that stick out for me.
The first one was in 1999 at the eletric factory in philly
was hatebreed and Danzig and for this tour only Glenn did a set with his old band Samhain. Was an amazing show.
The second was at giants stadium in 2000 was the tattoo the world tour, had Sevendust, Slayer, Slipnot(sp?) and Metallica, was amazing because Slayer did a classic set and Metallica (who only played this night of the tattoo tour)mostly did songs off the first three albums. Only thing that sucked was NJ didn't allow the tattoo artist to be in the stadium, so I wasn't able to get a tattoo that night. Hence y it was called tattoo the world.
