When I'm trying to learn a song on ear, I'll usually listen to a song for hours and hours on end.

Oh yeah, all the time. I'll get obsessed with one (or a few) song and just play it over and over and over.

I once listened to nothing but Cyclone2k's "Hey You!" (Kendricks solo entrance music) for four straight hours...
But lately I've been looping between Dio's "Holy Diver", Rainbow's "Kill the King" and Black Sabbath's "Heaven and Hell"... Three bands, but all three songs have Ronnie James Dio singing...

Yeah, lots of times. Usually when I really like a song I only listen to that song and don't even bother listening to other songs. That's why I haven't even listen to like half of the songs in my ipod because I just keep listening to my favorite song at that time.

I just listened to the instrumental "Ashes of the Wake" by Lamb of God for the last hour and a half. Nice, that's a good one. Sometimes, I find a song that sounds so awesome that I listen to it until 2 AM in the morning. Ones that I can remember doing such: Alice In Chains - Them Bones Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Fall Out Boy - Thanks For The Memories Nas - Hate Me Now Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man Type O Negative - Life Is Killing Me

I will say no.
Because I think the best way to kill a good song is to overplay it. But thats just me though. If I hear a song and no matter how good I think it is once I have heard it I do not need to hear it again for the rest of the day.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I try my best to avoid doing that, cuz you tend to wear yourself out on whatever song it is easier, but the one I've been listening to a lot lately is "United States" by The Smashing Pumpkins. Say what you will about "Zeitgeist", but the drumming is f***ing unreal on that song!

Listening to the same song over and over is pretty typical of me when I acquire a new track I'm really psyched about.

When I get stuck on a new song I find myself in love with it'll replay for hours until I understand every tiny nuance about it. Then it gets shuffled into my main itunes playlist.

Some tunes...mainly longer R&B/funk cuts. George Clinton stuff immediately comes to mind. There was a time when I put the 9 minute 12" version of Atomic Dog on repeat, and have done so recently with Parliament's "Flashlight." Gotta love stuff that has nuance enough to enjoy several times through.
