Three weeks ago the screen on my MP3 player cracked. Luckily, I was 10 days within the warranty so I was able to get store credit and buy a newer model of the Creative Zen.
Unfortunately as my last Zen was destroyed so with it was my entire collection of music. But now is not the time to mourn, now is the time to rebuild. And I want you to help me.
What songs are a must for you? What tracks should I make priority? What obscure gems do you think everyone should appreciate?
Surfing through these boards over the last few months, I know there is a wide spectrum of musical tastes here. I'm open to all genres so please put down anything you like. I would greatly appreciate your help with this.

Nearly anything by Lemon Demon, the man behind hits such as "Ebaums World Dot Com" and "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny".
"Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service.
Anything by The Whitest Kids U' Know, especially "Get a New Daddy".

You need some good "staring" music. You know the kind? It's when you're in a bus or a car and a song comes on. It just makes you stare out the window, wondering about life. Occasionally they can just be used as a staring song in general, but others work more than some.
The Eagles make good examples of this music.

Metal: I really like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Lamb of God. You can't really go wrong with any of their stuff.
Ska: The Aquabats are a lot of fun to listen to.
Rap/Hip Hop: Snoop Dogg, OutKast, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, NWA, Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, Wu-Tang Clan are all great artists.
Sorry I know the stuff seems random it's just hard for me to recommend music.

I'd go with Hotel California and Desperado for them. Desperado would probably be a good staring song. ;D

These are my 'Top Five Essential Artists', in no particular order:
1. Guns N' Roses 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Aerosmith (But NOT their later stuff. Eww.) 4. Iron Maiden 5. AC/DC
Dunno really what you're into, but check them out. All of their catalogues are pretty good.

The Eagles are an excellent, excellent choice. I'd go with Hotel California and Desperado for them. Hotel california is kind of an unofficial anthem for my family. Always played at the gatherings. This is kind of a long-shot, but does anyone know where I can find this song: 'Overlap' by Kimeru
