I don't smoke, but if I did, those pictures wouldn't make me quit. However like Mdogg said, my lungs probably look like that from second hand smoke too, so I am probably screwed...Oh well.

Nope. The ones I have right now say this OK, there's more, but that's enough. They'll never make me quit. Sorry. I think Denis Leary said it best when he said, "Yeah, Bill I got some cigarettes....HOLY crap!!! THESE THINGS ARE BAD FOR YOU!! I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOOD FOR YOU!! I THOUGHT THEY HAD VITAMIN C IN 'EM AND STUFF!!!" like jerry seinfeld once said... the only warning people really do care about is dry clean only. And it`s not like i dont know cigarettes are bad for your health, but honestly, what ISN`T bad for your health these days? and seeing as how pretty much every day is jugdement day, how much can a few cigarettes hurt anyway?

If you're stupid enough to start smoking, you deserve everything you get. Ok, I'm not a smoker but that's not fair. i do agree with you on that one, but i`ve gotten used to that kind of mentality that some people have. like smoking and intelligence are somehow combined and that smoking automatically makes you retarded or something. you`d be amazed how many anti-smokers have that mentality.

Nothing will probably make me quit smoking, because I like it. That's the long and short of it. Yay for personal choice.
As for the non-smokers, they can mock me all they want because odds are they'll die around the same time I will anyway.

Nah, not really. If it got to the point where those picture really bothered me I'd by cigarette holder so I don't have to look at those. Either way it doesn't look that gross. They should just put pictures of something grosser like a colon or something. Sure it has nothing to do with cigarettes but I sure wouldn't wanna buy something with a butthole on it.

Just remember guys, it's not always about yourself.
There just may be someone (or a lot of people) in the future that care about you that you put through a lot of pain and sorrow due to your negligence now. Even if you don't care about your own personal health, it may effect them more then you know.
This is not a personal attack on anyone, as I have friends who smoke (unfortunately, most of em). But I am speaking from experience. And with that, I'll leave this thread because I don't mean to start any trouble.

I think there should be more warning labels on alcohol. How many times have you heard of people dying/being hospitalized from alcohol poisoning. Yeah cigarettes are bad for you, but smoking about 30 cigarettes in an hour isn't gonna make you choke on your own puke and drop dead , about 30 shots of tequila will.

You see its that kind of mentality that allows the tobacco companies to thrive. Sure were gonna die some day, but do we have to pay for it? All you're doing is saying "Please Mr. Cancer Merchant, give me something that will stink up my breath and stink up my clothes." Nah, I'm going to buy some Chewlies gum instead. Great post!

No. In fact, all of these Truth commercials with the guy trying to buy light bullets are f***ing INSULTING. While I think we can all agree their hearts are in the right place and they're trying to do a good thing, I'd bet any amount of money that their commercials haven't caused A SINGLE PERSON to quit smoking, and that's because all they do is reiterate facts that smokers know already. How f***ing STUPID do they think we are? Like we're just going to go "OMG NOBODY TOLD ME SMOKING WAS BAD FOR YOU! *quit*" I know there are a billion different chemicals in cigarette smoke, I know Big Tobacco is goddamn evil. Is any of that going to change the fact that cigarettes are JUST SO GOOD?!
Another thing, I don't know if this has been addressed or not in this thread, mainly because I can't be bothered to read four whole pages of it, this freakin' commercial with the guy buying bullets. I want to BITE the FACE of everyone involved. If you haven't seen it, and also actually give a damn about anything I'm saying, the guy goes into a gun shop and asks if they have any light bullets. Bullets that are less harmful than regular bullets. Then, he's like "WELL OMG DID YOU KNOW THAT CIGARETTES ARE DESCRIBED AS LIGHT OR ULTRA-LIGHT TO TRICK THE STUPID DUMB IDIOT SMOKERS INTO THINKING THEY'RE HEALTHIER?!" When, in reality, anyone who can readcan tell you that those phrases describe the FLAVOR OF THE CIGARETTES and nothing else. What are regular cigarettes called? "Full FLAVOR." Not "full tar" or "full nicotine" or "full cancer." In fact, there's a damn booklet in packs of Marlboros that says just that. I've never heard anyone say "I smoke lights so I'm going to get less cancer." I want to punch that guy in his big, stupid glasses and shave off is dumb afro.
It's like "hey, Truth commercials. I'm just

If I smoked I really doubt it would so much as catch my attention. Luckily I'll never have to worry about that as I'm not stupid enough to even start in the first place.
But I swear, for someone like me who finds that habit repulsive, some of these ads kill me. Half of the ones on TV especially. You know it's bad when they make ME want to pick up a cigarette just to go "HA HA, SUCK ON THAT YOU JACKASSES! OOOH LOOK HOW GOOOOOOD THIS IS!".

It must suck to be a smoker, just because of all the crap you guys get. I don't have to agree with what you do, but it's personal choice so do whatever you want.

I used to smoke, a lot actually, and I quit a few years back. It was a pain in the ass to quit, those things are hard to kick, but I'm happy I did it.
See, it wasn't the death thing that scared me. Every smoker knows full well what they're doing to their body. They just weight the "enjoyment" of smoking over the risks involved.
No, what bugged me was that I couldn't walk across campus without getting completely winded. THAT sucked.
Now I can actually do strenuous workouts without feeling like I'm going to keel over.
I still have friends that smoke. It's kind of annoying when I'm just relaxing in the house and they're all like "come outside with me so I can smoke". Or when they bug me to smoke in my car, or when I have to stand around and wait for them to finish smoking before we get in my car.
I dunno, smokers just look kinda weak to me now that I've quit. Only smoking the good stuff makes sense to me now.
