I do, but when my doctor wanted to look further into it, I wasn't comfortable about it... so yeah. I get hit HARD almost daily, and it really sucks. There you go. My only weakness. Oh, and my love for Saved by the Bell. I never thought that was a weakness, but I have since learned otherwise. I'm really sorry to hear that. I couldn't imagine a cool smurfer like you, who's launched many-a-wrestlecrap poster gimmick, have such issues. I've had plenty of crap happen to me, but I'm not depressed. Dunno, maybe its my philosophical approach to life - "Every day, Nature is kind enough to give me another day to live, making the sun rise, without me asking for it, or me having done anything to deserve another day to live. What more could I want?"

Seriously, I used to be depressed, but the talkings of Hicks, Leary, Rogan, Stanhope and Carlin have really changed how I view life, and I feel it helped my depression ten-fold.
E.g. "It's just a ride" and the general thesis that anything... anything can be funny in its own way

Bill Hicks, Dennis Leary, Joe Rogan, Doug Stanhope and George Carlin... 5 of the greatest comedians ever, but they also have amazing philosophies on life.

Well I know things could be a lot worse, so I don't feel as bad as I have before, though this is temporary

Must be a cultural thing, as I've never heard of them. But I suppose you've never heard of Jonathan Ross, Jo Brand and Jeremy Clarkson?

Bit weird though, Dennis Leary is very mainstream these days (he's the main guy in Rescue Me), and Rogan and Stanhope hosted a few series of The Man Show and Rogan also hosts Fear Factor.

I've learnt to deal with my depression through years of practice. I've managed to do it so well that most people I know have no idea that I was told I had a form of endogenous depression a few years agao. Basically, that means that there is no discernible reason for being depressed, your life is fine and there's no specific event which caused it, but it's still there. Which is great.
I like to think of it as a blessing and not a curse though. I think it makes you far more aware of other people's feelings and moods and can therefore build stronger relationships with them. But that's just me.

Most people don't know what depression even means. Most people who think they've been depressed haven't been, so for your awareness that you've not been depressed, I congratulate you.

I've been recommended seeing various people and taking various pills and what-have-you, but I'm not interested.
Whatever feelings I have go into my band and my writing. I don't really fancy having a large part of my personality medicated out of me.
Moreover, I think 'depression' is linked with intelligence. I'd rather be morose and clever than happy and ignorant.

I get depressed all of the time. The best thing for it is exercise. www.mayoclinic.com/health/depression-and-exercise/MH00043Not only will it greatly improve your mental health, but your physical health as well. It's a can't lose proposition. (provided you aren't hit by a bus while out jogging or don't have any cardiovascular issues and die of a massive heart attack)
