I always liked pick 'ems more than fantasy football just because I always lose interest by about week 3. This is simple, make your picks and you don't really have to think about it too much. I wonder how many people are going to be homers and pick their favorite team each week. Pittsburgh > All Else But that's not really a homer pick since Pittsburgh is the best team in the NFL. Fixed.

Pittsburgh?
The Steely McBean Team?
SD has one of top defenses, a top 5 QB, the best RB in the league, the biggest 'breakout start' prospect in Vincent Jackson as a WR, and they have the best TE in the game in Gates. Oh, and Merriman is the best defensive player bar none.

Wait, Merriman is far from the best defensive player in the league as well. I certainly wouldn't mind having him on either of my favorite teams though.

How is Philip Rivers a top 5 QB already? He has had one good season. No offense, but he still has a lot to prove. I'll take Big Ben and his 5-1 playoff record and the Super Bowl ring. The lame mascot has nothing to do with how well the Steelers are going to do this year. We'll see I think both teams will do well, but Pittsburgh is the greatest. Also Mike Tomlin will be a great coach, a solid defensive mind took a terrible defense in Minnesotta and made them the 9th best in the NFL and the 2nd best run defense in NFL history.

Rivers went to the Pro Bowl last year, his passing rating was amazing, and Big Ben was a joke last year. Pittsburgh has no shot at being even close to SD. Just look at the talent. SD is ten times more talented than Pittsburgh, no disrespect to them. SD may for all it's worth mess up and suck, but at this time their talent is amazingly above a lot, A LOT of teams.

We will see what happens, rememeber it isn't always talent that wins you a championship. Pittsburgh is a solid team with a very good group of coaches, and a young QB who played poor last year because of injury. Ben will be fine, and the Steelers will be back with the NFL elite. One thing is for sure the AFC is stacked this year. Patriots, Colts, Chargers, Denver, Steelers, Ravens, all have a shot at repersenting the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Really? Cause I saw the "best" team in the NFL last year fail to win a playoff game. Also, we both know what you're talking about... the botched hold, right? I bet you conveniently forgot how Romo drove them down the field with excellent poise in the final minutes of the game to get them in FG range. Romo is a QB, and as a QB, I saw a good, but not great (are you willing to say the same about Rivers?) "rookie" QB turn the season around and take them to the playoffs for the first time in a few years. The future doesn't look bad for Romo in the slightest.

LT, Antonio Gates, Jackson, they have weapons everywhere. And the Patriots game was against Brady, the man who makes miracles. It was also stupid mistakes, if our WR could catch balls and not drop them and celebrate we would of sealed the deal. We played stupid last year. But now those WR are pretty much out and we got some good talent in WR.

Another good thing about this pick em game... a new thread for good football discussion. Sorry for the hi-jack.

I don't have a problem with good old fashioned football discussion that is half the fun. Plus Lucky D you're a Cowboys fan, you and I have a natural hate for eachother in regards to our teams. How awesome would it be to have a Steelers-Cowboys Super Bowl. Winner is the first to 6 rings. That would be one hell of a storyline.

By nature, I hate the Steelers, but I've always had a lot of respect for them. You guys are up 2-1 in Super Bowl victories against one another. I'd love to tie the score. Also, if I'm not rooting for the Cowboys, I'm rooting for the Bengals. Now you REALLY hate me.

You rooted for the top felon team of the 90's now the top felon team of the 2000's. I don't see the Bengals being that good of a team. Terrible defense, and they've had a lot of off the field issues, plus all those player arrests. Carson Palmer however is a great QB, and you have a great WR core, but defense wins championships and the Bungles defense is awful.

Palmer and Johnson deserve to win. I'm a Cowboys fan for life, but I'll root for teams based on some of the talent on the team and that is basically my stance on the Bengals. One thing I will say in regard to San Diego is that Dallas now has their former defensive coordinator, the guy who basically molded Merriman into the beast that he is, as our head coach. I have a lot of faith that Ware and Spencer will be very big assets to the team this year.
