Giants challenge the interception and get the ball back, then capitolize with a great pass to Burress into Vikings territory to end the 3rd.

Giants getting closer. They need a TD right now to have any chance of winning.

Saints recover a fumble but I expect this to be challenged.

Anybody watching Washington - Tampa Bay? If so are the Redskins showing any chance of winning?

This game (Giants/Vikes) in particular shows why Power Rankings and the such are fun, but all together pointless. The Vikes are a below average team, but the very average Giants match up horribly against them (apparently). Similarly to Pittsburgh being taken behind the toolshed by the Cardinals and losing to the Jets, the difference between teams considered at the top and those at the bottom is not all that far apart.
Outside of the Patriots, the league is a collection of above average and mediocre teams with major flaws. Those that win can either compensate for their major concerns or just flat out get lucky.

Excuse me, I must go kill Eli Manning now..... I'll help. So this is the guy who's supposed to take down the Pats in week 17? They could have Brady and Moss play for a quarter and Pats would still win.

I really hat FOX now for cancelling the Vikings/Giants game with 12 minutes left to go to the Bucs/Redskins. I don't care if they are going to loose but they flat out said it's no longer competitive. Almost as if they are trying to give the Giants mercy by not showing their game anymore.

Almost as if they are trying to give the Giants mercy by not showing their game anymore. Well it isn't competitive. I'd rather see the Redskins/Bucs game myself. Unfortunately, my local Fox is sticking with the Giants game.

This isn't an excuse Eli Manning post.....
That said, the QB gets too much acclaim and too much blame.
In the case of Eli today:
Plaxico Burress should not be on the field and I have no idea why the coaching staff keeps him out there. His injuries are too much to overcome and his inability to finish a route and be where he was supposed to be contributed to one interception.
Amani Toomer's career is over. It was a solid journey and one Giants fans will remember, but the guy has been a mid-level #1 receiver for his career and an above average #2 since Plaxico has come into NY. Coming off injuries, he's just not a threat anymore and can't get separation regardless of where he's lined up.
Sinorice Moss has been a wasted pick. He's shown nothing and has only contributed on a simple screen play that teams know is coming any time he's in the formation.
Jeremy Shockey has the mental toughness of a 5 year old girl. Punch him in the mouth when the team's down and he'll start pouting and give up on everything.
The rest of the receiver group is on the back of a milk carton.
The offensive line got walked all over. It confounds me that the group that pushed Dallas around for the better part of that game let a lesser team eat them up. Diehl regressed and looked lost at LT.
Droughns isn't a great back. He's a system back and he doesn't fit NY's scheme. Bradshaw showed some promise, but by the time he sniffed the field, it was too late.
Gilbride is a bad offensive coordinator. Watches what doesn't work, but insists on repeating it over and over again. His lack of creativity or intelligent play calling has had me at a lost, as I've said over and over he'll eventually cost the team a game.
Top all of this off with Eli playing like a dog, and you get the result you got today. He seems to constantly struggle against a Cover 2 defense and can't spot the robber at all. It's confusing, as he's usually good at getting the protection packages audibled in and knows where things are coming from, but he might as well have been playing in the dark today.
So, yes, Eli played horrible, but let's not forget the other 10 guys on offense that collectively laid an egg today along with the coaching staff that helped.

Broadcasters getting a little vicious. "In Houston, David Carr has proven he can't play. In Carolina now he's proven he can't play."
