LOL I'm all for giving my friends hell, but I will not, under any circumstances, pantomime fellatio on them. Not the male ones anyway. And now thanks to your signature, I'm facing a new dillema....if Ron and Sheiky tried to humble each other, who would win? I hope you don't mind, but i'm sigging that first part of your post, lol... and i'd say it would have to be Ron... I mean, he's humbled people for a living.. Shiek just does it for fun. and speaking of ron jeremy and fellatio... i one time stumbled upon a video on the internet of ron jeremy doing such TO HIMSELF! it was THE single most disturbing thing i've seen... untill a certain video involving a cup and a couple females. ....yeah I'm gonna go ahead and hope I never find that video. But, since you mentioned the cup...read this following question closely, if you dare. Have you ever seen 4 girls get together and fingerpaint before? Oh, uh, dot com.

I still haven't seen Knocked Up. I have dishonored us all. Besides, Superbad isn't really Seth's movie. It's Jonah and Michael's movie. And McLovin. Hell, he even gets outfunnied by Bill Hader half the time. But yeah, Rogen is great. I love the guy. Just waiting for the inevitable backlash against him, like my man Jack Black seems to be undergoing right now.

What's up with the hate for stoners and/or stoner movies?
I, myself, am a stoner (and there's a huge difference between stoner and pothead, but I'll explain that later) and Knocked Up was one of the few movies that felt true to the hobby, even though the characters were complete potheads. People didn't get high and see leprechauns or want to fly, they just sat around and acted like jackasses to each other and had the most ridiculous conversations about absolutely nothing.
Both movies were awesome, but Jonah Hill in Superbad reminded me wayyyy too much of myself and made me literally LOL wayyyy more.
Stoner = Person who enjoys pot but understands his responsibilities in life (Work, school, etc.) and puts those before getting high.
Pothead = Person who really enjoys pot and has it take priority over the rest of his life (Like the characters in Knocked Up).

I see where he's comming from too. He's comming from "I'm a glorified troll who just likes to go about the board seeing what i can say to incite a flame war"...... land... anyway, good to see another skeevey stoner on the board

Am I really that much in the minority? I watched Knocked Up and sadly, did not laugh once. Not even a chuckle throughout the entire movie! Same goes for 40 Year Old Virgin. I guess I just don't find these guys funny...
Now that my friends want me to watch Superbad with them, should I even bother?

First off, Superbad is NOT a stoner movie by any stretch of the imagination. The only pot references in it are very subtle (like you see a couple people using a bong). Plus it has none of the earmarks of a stoner movie.
Second, Seth Rogan is almost as far from Farrell as possible. Rogan doesn't do crazy characters. He's more of a straight man.
Third, he co-wrote Superbad (he's supposed to be Seth in the movie), so it's still his movie even though he didn't star in it.
Fourth, it's Superbad by a landslide for me. It's easily in my top 5 movies of all time.

I liked both, but Superbad gets the edge cause I could relate to that more. I just love the style of these movies though, they seemed mostly ad libed which gives them a much more real feel and have some great one liners.

F*** off. I am smurfing sick, absolutely sick of being called a "troll". I don't like stoner humour because I don't relate to it. I don't smoke pot and I don't think those who do are funny. I am anti-drug and have little respect for drug users. Not to mention one of the options (that has six votes) is "they both blow balls". I simply chose that option. IT WAS MY OPINION.

Eh, I'd say Rogen's character is a pothead who became a stoner at the end. I love both movies. Seriously, their dialogues (ESPECIALLY in Superbad) seem to be taken straight out of my life. itreasure all of the films, and Superbad is one of my top favorites ever. If someone doesn't like it, fine, it was still hella awesome to me and others.

i'd say it's less screaming "we're trying to be edgey" and more the writers trying to make characters that are relatable and realistic. If you have to have your characters be pot smokers in order for the audience to relate to them, then the audience isn't much to speak of in the first place.

Tell the story they want to tell without thinking they need to put a certain type of character in. If they want to put in a stoner, and always inteded it, fine, but don't do it because "Well, if we don't put one in, stoners won't come to see our movie!!!" You could apply that to rich people, overweight people, or anything else... If a studio is saying "You need to have a character who does this, or owns this, so other people who do it will come see the movie!", then the studio is insulting the intelligence of the audience as a whole. But keep taking it out of context so you can fly off the handle.

I still think the posters on this board in general are funnier than 95% of what's in theaters and television. That includes Rogan and his bunch.

is it weird that i LOVE both of these movies but for some reason I hated 40 year old Virgin? I mean I think the only movie in which i thought Steve Carrol was funny was, Anchorman...
