I hate that it's been overhyped (especially with the 24 hour deal) to the point of backlash. It's one of my favorites simply because of the charm of the characters and the narration. It's my favorite Christmas movie, but the hype makes it come off as the greatest thing ever. It's just a cute movie with heart.

I love the movie. Its one of the best Christmas movies of all time. I grew up with it though, watching it every year...so liking it is an acquired taste. Give it a try though if you havent seen it before. You never know, you may like it.

Full 24 hours for me. I love the movie, tons of memorable moments throughout: The leg lamp, changing the tire on the side of the road, beating up the bully. Terrific film. Personally, I like that they show it for 24 hours straight. If I miss it at one time, I can watch it again later. And it's the kind of movie where you can jump in at any point and enjoy it.

I've seen it hundreds of times. Decent movie, but not as great as people make it out to be. I may catch some flack for this, but Home Alone was a way better Christmas movie, IMO.

I know it's wrong, and I don't care. For soem reason, I really want to nail the mom. She's not even what I'd call "hot". Just....
I'd do her, okay?

Hey, I hadn't seen the Silence of the Lambs until Hannibal came out waaaaaay later, and then I finally rented it to see if I was going to the other in the theatre later that night. I got a lot of crap about it at the time, but the way I look at it its hard to get around to see even all the classics.
They are however classics for a reason most of the time, so I'd reccomend seeing it. Granted it may be more a peice of Americana Christmas, but I should hope that most of it translates accross lines.

You guys who haven't seen it should make it a little forum event... Like the "Live RAW" threads, everybody would watch a Christmas Story together... sounds like a good time... And I'm watching it right now... He totally shot his eye out...

When I was younger, every year our theater would show the movie for free -- well, you had to bring in a can of food donation, but essentially free. And the theater ALWAYS filled. Of course we always went.
Note: This was in Nova Scotia, Canada, and we didn't give a rat's ass that the movie took place in the US. Most of the movie reminded me of home, actually.
Oh, and the movie is bad. But I still love it.

I really love it, since the first time I saw it, which I guess was about 1996.
