I guess Weiland had a better voice. STP kind of seemed like a corporate manufactured "grunge" band though, kinda lame. However, they did have a few good songs regardless I'll admit. Chains were more of a metal band that got lumped in with grunge, probably due to the time period and where they were from. Facelift and Dirt were pretty good albums. I like them a whole lot more than STP. I think they mostly got lumped in with grunge because they did have some grunge-like elements to their songs...sometimes the tempo would be similar, or some of the more odd chord progressions usually associated with grunge. They were definitely more metal than grunge, but there was a little bit in there.

Gotta be Layne. The mans voice was powerful, haunting and beautiful. *listens to Jar of Flies and Sap* The awesomenes. I thought I was the only one who liked those albums here. Tripod blows everything away for me and Unplugged is the best live show I've ever heard/seen.
