Spanking the Monkey wasn't exactly a normal film.

Akira.
The second half of the movie truly was the strangest shit I've ever seen.

Snow White.
Not the cartoon, but a live action based on the original fairy tale. Now, I had seen Walt's vision of it. Too bad he left the part out where one of the dwarfs tells Snow White to kiss his ass.
While true to the original, it's just odd in that you're so accusomted to Disney's, it's quite a shock.

The Piano Teacher & Ma Mere I hated both. Ma Mere had a really cute girl in one of the supporting roles. But yeah, outside of her, hate the film. I can never listen to "So Happy Together" again the same way.

Yeah, I saw that one (Chein Andalu) in a Spanish class in college. One girl walked out during the eye bit. Yeah, the Pixies' song "Debaser" references that song. Got me a movie I want you to know Slicing up eyeballs I want you to know Girl you're so groovy I want you to know Don't know about you, But I am Un Chein Andula

Space Zombie Bingo (if you want a dictionary definition of "Troma Film" this is it)
And i've seen that Dali film for my Graphic Arts class. It's pretty weird.

Gory Gory Hallelujah.
4 people (a gay hippy, a black militant, a woman and a jewish man) all audition for the role of Jesus in a new play. When none of them get the role, they hop on motorcycles and head for Broadway, along the way encountering zombies and coke-snorting midget Elvis impersonaters.

The Happiness Of The Katakuri's. Weirdest damn film I've ever seen. It starts out when a claymation winged monster comes out of a woman's soup then grabs her uvula and flys away. Read that sentence again. Now bear in mind that this scene is never referred to again! The film does have a plot kinda, but it's full of weird crap like killing crows with sticks, singing zombies, old women asking for cake then wailing and fleeing at the sight of a solar eclipse. Maybe it was too highbrow for us, but it was all so disjointed and random, me and my friends dubbed it "Things That Happen 1". Having since discovered "Things That Happen 2 and 3" Here's my favourite clip from the movie. It's actually a great scene... www.youtube.com/watch?v=cymqjan_BP4

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) Yeah, I remember when I finally watched that at a friend's on DVD, as I've never been huge into horror films (minus Zombie films) and I was really impressed with, as my friend pointed out to me, how they'd show very very short clips of scenes in the scary moments just to freak you out. Some of them were straight up blink and you miss them... only on screen for a second or two at most. Just an awesome technique that fit the movie. As for weird movies... Death Race 2000 (all the characters they portray and messages they try to convey just make it odd). Another friend of mine who did film work for school had wanted to see this, then even moreso when I caught it on AMC one night. We bought two copies off e-bay and he ended up writing a few page essay on the movie that he got a great grade on. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nOzryCfkbc
