My mom's boyfriend. Coolest guy I knew. Then earlier this month, he was diagnosed with cancer, and he's distant, drunk, and really rude to me.

I wasn't exactly laughing. I'm sure you wasn't man, but that's the first I've heard of someone getting paper plates for christmas. I hate that it happened to you cause you're cool, but I can't stop giggling at the thought of someone getting that as a present.

Besides the fact that he feels clothing can be stifling, he is a rad guy. He's been way nicer to me than he had any right to be(especially considering the fact that he has two grown children of his own, one of whom is in Iraq, and 2 grand kids.). Now, I don't know. I mean, I can understand why he's upset. I'm sure this isn't how he wanted to spend his holiday season. So I can't really get mad at him. Its just more sad than anything. Like today, him and I always watch M*A*S*H together. Every day. Usually 2 or 3 episodes. In that time, he usually laughs a good 10-15 times. And I mean laughs hard. Today he laughed once and chuckled twice. And these were good episodes. But I think he realizes it, because this evening he asked me "Hey Andy, when is that show Cheap Seats on"(he knows I love it, and he's watched it a couple times with me).

Yeah, I wouldn't get too offended by his actions. That's a huge amount of stress that he's taken on, and stress and worry will make the nicest guy yell or go off at those he or she cares for.

But hopefully after the 14th, this will all be over. We caught the cancer really early, so he just is going in for routine surgery. Luckily it was on his skin and not cancer of any organs. So once the tumor is removed, he should be A-OK.
