The mom should be the one choked, if anyone is getting choked. She brought up a kid that has no respect... I don't see how that's the daughters fault. You're partially right. But this little brat will continue on in life like this, and will it still be her mother's fault? She's old enough to have made some of her own ethical choices. Apparently getting everything you want in life on a platter seems to be one she thinks is justified. The girl doesn't know any better. Her reality is a place where you get what you want. The only way her perspective will change is if her reality changes, honestly. Besides, who do we learn ethics from? From those that we spend the most time with, que no? If those that have "raised" her show this behavior, then of course she'll follow suit. And Cornfed, me, have an ego? NO WAY!

Often we learn things from classmates and other experiences in life. We learn right from wrong from other institutions and individuals than our parents. She's in for a rude awakening in life, and no man will ever be able to make her happy until she learns that life isn't that easy, that it's just not given to you. Yeah, that is her parent's fault. They fail. But it won't be her parent's fault forever. Sooner or later she's going to have to grow up and take responsibility for herself. Blaming everything on others for the rest of your life just makes you weak. She's at the age when she needs to be responsible for herself and her actions. The ego comment goes well with your new screen name.

To whoever was wondering: from what I know, it isn't fake. The hissy fits, crying, and vapid attempts to be popular are all real. However, the Super Sweet 16 movie that I have been hearing about is fake.
As for the kids, it will be very entertaining to see them stumble out into the real world without their mother or father helping them.

Poor girl, having to drive around in a Lexus. She'll look like another poor commoner in that 6 horse powered piece of garbage.
I feel sorry for her.

Blaming everything on others for the rest of your life just makes you weak. She's at the age when she needs to be responsible for herself and her actions. The ego comment goes well with your new screen name. Okay, I am going to ask if you know this girl personally... because in all likelihood, she does live in a societial bubble. I figure from having a brand new Saab Convertible as a teenager puts her outside of the regular, middle class realm. Having said that, I also think it's safe to say that her friends in school have the same problems with respecting a gift as she does. And sure, blaming others does usually mean that one is weak; but can you honestly say that this girl is level headed and ready for the world? Yes, when she faces a reality that is different than her own, she will be in need of an attitude adjustment. But as of now? She is being allowed to get away with that attitude... so why would she change? It's a parenting thing. As an aside... the point you made about her 'never finding a man that would make her happy...' is something that sticks out to me. Any healthy person does not need another person to make them happy. They should be able to be happy by themselves... you do not enter a relationship to become happy; that is a fallacy. I don't need a woman to be happy; you do not need a man to be happy; Banjo doesn't need Johnny to be happy... you know? And if that is true, we have a lot more to deal with than a disrespectful teenager.

I agree with the comments about not needing another to be happy.
But I'm going to stop going off topic now, because it will further derail the thread.

I think both the girl and her parents deserve swift kicks to the pants. The parents share a lot of the blame for her being the way she is, but she's reaching the point in life where she needs to start taking responsibility for her own actions.

I went to school with a spoiled brat who severely pissed me off one day by sitting at my table for lunch and started bitching about how he just could not believe that his daddy would only buy him a new Camaro instead of the new Corvette that he wanted.
That's right, he was mad that he got a brand new IROC-Z. It was the very car that was good enough for the Secret Service to use to train their agents in high-speed stunt driving, but it was not good enough for him. I told him to shut the f*** up.

trixie, I think you quoted the wrong arguement to agree with. It happens. I'll give you another shot. My arguement contains violence towards multiple people. Hence it being the right arguement, since violence is always the answer. ;D

If you look a little, you'll find a video that she made in which she announced that her daddy bought her a new blue car like she wanted, and now they had an extra car to get rid of. BTW, I am honestly floored that some people have made videos supporting these spoiled brats. I, on the other hand, applaud the mom for returning the car after her daughter acted like that. If you can't appreciate a car, you don't need one.

I think both the girl and her parents deserve swift kicks to the pants. The parents share a lot of the blame for her being the way she is, but she's reaching the point in life where she needs to start taking responsibility for her own actions. The problem is that these days most parents would rather be friends with their kids and considered "cool". So, saying "no" or setting any boundries is out of the question. Add to that the fact that the soft society we live in doesnt allow you to discipline your kids, if you spank them here comes DSS. (Some states even want to/have already tried banning it). I see it everywhere I go. Parents let their kids get away with murder when theyre younger, figuring its someone elses problem. Well, the videos in this thread are the end result
