Well?
I taped both and watched them a few days later, not knowing what had happened on either. I can't remember which I watched first.

I still vividly remembering Schiavone "congratulating" Foley for winning the belt. I was like, "what?"
Days earlier, I read the WWE website report that Mankind won the belt, so I knew....but WCW acknowledging it?
This was years, mind you, before I knew that WCW did such stuff to spoil RAW and trump them in the ratings.
I think that night signified the end of WCW being an equal competitor against WWF.

During college, I saw this when my roommate and I had 2 TVs in our room. One was designated for RAW and the other for Nitro.
So we ended up watching them simultaneously. My roommate was pissed that they swerved us with the Fingerpoke.
And I marked like an idiot when Foley won the strap.

I was flipping back and forth, still have it on tape I think. But yeah, Rock/Mankind in a no DQ match was a lot more appealing than Hogan/Nash making 30,000 people feel stupid for buying tickets for Nitro.

SIGH......the monday night wars didn't happen in this part of Canada.......(I had to live vicariously through recaps). No USA or TNT network here abouts....... so I had to wait for TSN to decide to play both shows.
RAW would play later on Monday night, or Tuesday (Sometimes on time....eventually ...maybe 98 or 99 TSN signed a deal with WWE to show it live...but prior to that....sometime within ) and Nitro would be a day later. Typically I knew the results before watching either show....but usually that didn't stop me from watching RAW.

Schiavonie really did screw himself, because I was looking forward to Nash vs Hogan, but as soon as I heard him say that, I switched right over to Raw.

We didn't get Nitro until Wednesday afternoon up here, so I watched both.

I watched Raw and taped Nitro. That was very unusal for me though. Normally I did the opposite, but I had heard about the Foley win on the internet long before Tony Schiovane said anything.

I had screen in screen, so I was actually watching BOTH. When the fingerpoke of doom happened, I got so disgusted that I turned screen in screen off and continued to watch Raw.

The benefit of living on the east coast was the shows were never on at once and I could watch both, except for Nitro's third hour. On that night in question, I taped Foley's win and immediately after recorded the end of the Nitro replay. The Foley win was much better.

I have always been a WWF/E fan more than anything else. I was watching RAW anyway.

Me and my friends (we were at a friends house cuz it was his birthday) went apes**t when Mick won the title. Afterwards, we watched Nitro (which we had taped) and, even at 13 years of age, we knew that WCW was history after the Fingerpoke.

This was years, mind you, before I knew that WCW did such stuff to spoil RAW and trump them in the ratings. Same here. and I saw the pic of Foley with the belt on wwf.com of all places as it was the only wrestling site I went to back in the day. Knowing there would be a nitro replay I only watched the 1st hour of Nitro and saw the rest on the replay and watched Raw when it came on. The one time I didnt was when goldberg fought Scott Hall b4 he fought Hogan so I recorded that. Sadly the DX as the Nation parody happened at the same time. So I still regret not recording that so I could have it in its entirety.

In Canada Raw was "live" most Monday nights, then repeated Tuesday afternoons and Nitro didn't air until Wednesdays. Those were some damn good times, even with all the WCW stupidity. I'd sooner watch that era over this one any day. You figure most of Triple H's title matches essentially end the same way as Hogan/Nash except with twenty minutes of wrestling before the fingerpock (Pedigree).
