Personally, I liked it. But that's because I didn't watch early ECW. So there you go.

It's beyond stupid.
All this equals is more of his stale dumbass 1999 character taking up more valuable air time for nothing. He should get a clue and remove himself from being an on-screen character all together.

I don't mind it to be honest (He's more entertaining than Lashley), but it's still irritating that he's the only one the title changed hands to.

Even in a bizarro world setting, if you'd have told me back in 1996 straight after watching the four way dance at Heatwave 96 that some day Vince McMahon would be ECW world champion i'd have tried to dice you into finely cut pieces.
It's the worst thing i could imagine, except maybe making Stephanie the GM....oh wait....

it's definitely not brilliant, but it's better than some generic hoss who puts on snorefests every defense.
Hopefully Vince will forfeit the title and hold a tournament, which will make the New Breed/Originals feud even more interesting.

Vince as champ: Bad
Lashley no longer the champ: Good
Vince actually pretending to be a wrestler with this championship: Bad
Vince vacating the title right away and creating a storyline for the ECW wrestlers to chase the title: Good
So in other words, this could be a good thing and it could be a bad thing.

Personally, I really like the idea. I'd like to see where this ends up.

I thought it was stupid. Any storyline where a non-wrestler wins a belt is always horrible and does'nt do anything for the belt or the guy he beat for the belt. I'm tired of the McMahons on my tv anyway and this is just another excuse to keep them around on tv.
The thing that I found funny was it got no reaction from the fans last night in Georgia. They went really quite after he won, it just sucked the life out of the arena , as if they were saying "man, thats really stupid"

This doesn't surprise me in the least.
I can only imagine how much it's going to cost Paul Heyman to have his TV replaced after last night, since I figure he probably threw something heavy through it.

Eh, I hope Vince holds it for awhile, as long as he gets put in hardcore title defenses and gets juiced in every match. I'd pay to see the Sandman cane the crap out of him.

I thought McMahon couldn't piss on the ECW legacy any more. I stand corrected.

I thought McMahon couldn't piss on the ECW legacy any more. I stand corrected. QFT. I cannot agree more. Bobby as champion was terrible, but at least he was a wrestler. A bad one, bt a wrestler nonetheless. Vince as champion is possibly the 2nd most disgraceful thing they could have done with the title- the most being give it to Bischoff. Please vacate it Vince. This isn't 'OMG Heel Vince' heat. This isn't even X-Pac heat. This is just David Arquette heat. Have we already got a Gooker 07 contender? I think so. Oh and Hoffman, the Heatwave 96 4 Way Dance was for the World Television Title. The ECW Heavyweight Title was in the Sandman/Raven feud. But your point still stands.

I still have to see where they are going with this and what happens but It very well might be Gooker material. Man this year has had alot of crap already. I mean you have the Rosie-Donald Match, The Abyss-Sting Feud, Eric Young Storyline and now Vince ECW Champion. Man it's not even June yet!

Having Shane win the title would have made more sense. Not much more, but a bit more. Vince will either forfeit the belt or defend the belt in pointless matches where he wins via interference every time, therefore building more and more heat until he gets beaten (by Lashley, you know it).

I would like to go on record saying that if Lashley takes the title back from Vince, then we're right back where we started, we ultimately accomplished nothing, and it become clear that Vince just put the title because it fed his ego. It's not like Lashley or the ECW brand is more over with Vince as the champ -- he is the only one who benefits.
