That promo still gives me goosebumps. I loved that promo, and it has a special place in my heart cause I was THERE the day that Heyman cut that promo.

Ya know what I wish?? Heyman cut this promo again tommorow night on RAW and the crowd pops HUGE for it. I wonder how Vince would react.

Vince let Heyman say all that? If that promo was now, the fans would pop bigger than anything Austin did in the Attitude era.

A few thoughts on this promo.
First, no matter what was scripted, no matter what Vince allowed Heyman to say, you know for a FACT that this came from the heart. You can tell that Paul believed what he was saying was true.
Second, as an old school ECW fan, the crowd reaction pretty much killed that entire segment. I know that WWF were technically the "faces" in the whole angle, but you can believe that if that promo was cut in New York or Philly, the crowd would've been totally behind Heyman.

Fan 1: What do all those big words mean fan 2: Who cares just boo him At least he wasn't speaking Russian. Yeah, I agree with everything that's been said. Tazz choking out Heyman at the end was a dumb way to end it, Cole's a retard, although I understand why he'd say something like that in storyline, and Heyman was right. What really killed be was when they had him come out kowtowing trying to get his job back after Survivor Series, only for Vince to have him thrown out and we get the return of the King. Ranks right up there with Jericho crying and begging for his job as one fo my least-favorite and completely unwatchable moments in wrestling.

Sadly, 6 years later, Heyman's words still ring true. Truer now than ever.

Probally my second favorite promo ever.... the first being Hogan's heel turn nWo speech and the 3rd being Ric Flair's Flair for the Gold speech after he won the NWA title the second time.....
I also really like Joey Style's promo on RAW last year....
Damn promo's like this make you wish Vince would listen...
Also i agree they should have used this promo in Philly or New York!

"Haven´t you watched the show lately? Vince MacMahon has lost his mind!"
By god, Paul was a fortune teller or something?

"Haven´t you watched the show lately? Vince MacMahon has lost his mind!" By god, Paul was a fortune teller or something? The WWE as it is today is like the heavyweight Boxing scene: theres no real contenders on the horizon so why bother to put out a effort.

I remember that promo back then and I thought it was awesome.
It's frightening that Heyman's words actually apply far more today than they did back then. Because in 2001, the WWF/E wasn't actually that bad. It wasn't great (especially during the Alliance era when this promo took place), but it still had a lot of good things going for it.
Wrestling has become a dirty word in WWE. If it was a dirty word in 2001, it must now be worse than the F word here in 2007. I seriously hope that Heyman can somehow once again contribute to some promotion be it TNA or a new promotion altogether.

Great promo by Heyman, I guess the reason the promo sounds so real is because Vince McMahon really stole ECW concepts and called the edgier product WWF Attitude, and Paul Heyman just hates him for that.

I remember I wasn't watching wrestling at this point, but I just so happened to turn SD on about just about the moment this promo started, and I was completely transfixed.
It's like so many of us standing there, screaming in Vince's face, almost pleading with him, "Why? Why do you book things just to spite us?", only for him to sic "Tazz" on us, collectively.
